Dear Diary...or how I learnt to eat properly

About Me & My Programme

I have been going to the gym since Februaury 2004 but only doing a split with proper moves since February 2005. Before that I was doing a full body workout with no set plan.
Now I am doing a two day split over two or three days a week.
The programme is based around Ca$hmans beginners with the legs tacked onto the chest/shoulder/tri day with abs worked each time I visit the gym.
No cardio at present although aim to start soon when I find a new gym once I have moved.

Supplementing with whey protein shakes, USN creatine [2xtsps a day] and some multivitamins. Looking for more info on dextrose/glutamine before I get them.

My Goals

After reading posts on here I have seen that am I not lifting as much as people who have been working out for less time than me. I seem to be stuck at a certain weight reguarding benching and am not making significant increases in weight on other moves.

My goals are to get stronger and increase muscle mass without putting on fat.
The main areas I would like to develop are my arms and shoulder although I am not neglecting other areas such as back, chest and legs.
I think the re-introduction of cardio will allow me to eat more whilst being able to keep my bf% down?

Will post stats and pics when I get home from work.

I know my diet is utter ****e.

This diary is more so I can look at it and see how bad it is and have it on 'paper' in front of me.

I'm not being slack to take the piss.

Its partly due to not having enough time but a lot to do with not wanting to put on fat.

i totaly believe that diet is the hardest thing in bodybuilding, imo. so, goodluck with that. i honestly don't think you'll get fat eating so little.....but then again that's just me saying that, i'm not sure what your metabolism is like

    goodluck anyhow

    start - 8 stone 7 lbs
    current - 10 stone 1 lb

I don't think I will get fat from eating that amount.

Its the stuff I don't eat that would make me fat.

I was doing ok for a while as I got some help from Nick P about good things to eat but then I fell off the wagon [food wise!] so to speak.

Just doing stupid things like eating those penguins in the day and then not eating anything later as I've had the chocolate.

Maybe I should cut down to loose the belly and then try and maintain the low bf% with eating big but clean?

I would not cut at 187lb and 6f1, EAT big and gro, then cut down, dont worry about gaining a few lb of fat mate. One or the other mate is the fastest way. Cut or bulk..... you will get to your target quicker! Eat big, train hard and get big, then when your huge, go on a cut :)
