It's not gone because it's not a tweak/injury, it's down to mobility being impeded IMHO and I'm pretty sure being knotted to kingdom come contributes a lot to it. Resting will make little difference as there isn't really anything to heal, things need to be freed up.
 
As for the max work, yeah, not sure max work after a week off will be kind to the tendons, I gather (according to my physio buddy) a full week off can actually leave tendons vulnerable if not gradually tapered back in, and obviously high volume levels aren't too kind to them either, altho having peaked into it may not present such an issue. But if acute spikes in training volume or load can be an issue with tendinopathy then a week off followed by overreaching may be tempting fate.
 
Annoyingly pressing work didn't reap the same benefits as legs did, it was tough.

Right, I certainly know about yesterday's leg workout but no point crying over spilt milk. Shoulder feeling relatively well behaved this morning so we'll get some pressing done.
 
Flat BB Bench: 10x40, 8x60, 5x80, 105x13, 11, 9, 8, 6, 5
Cable X Over: #7+2kg x15, 12, 10... #7x11, 11, 10, 10
JM Press, Smith: 65x12, 11, 10, 9, 9
OH Rope (pull apart): 10x#4, #7x15, 14, 12, 12, 12
Laying (Floor) Cable SLR: #3x15, 15, 14, 13, 13, 12
Kneeling OHP: 30x12, 11, 12
 
It all started well enough and shoulder moved OK but I could just feel the weight (typical week off pressing woes). That said, first couple of sets were alright and reps held on fine, not up which started the negative vibes off but moving. Then it got harder, which then resulted in me wondering if I'd changed grip so was then pissing about with that which in turn made things hard work so I was losing this battle, got some good hip cramping on one set too. Added a 6th set to get volume in, pulled grip out again and altho the damage was already done it did feel better. Upped X over, probably shouldn't have but started OK, after 3 sets I was getting close to single digits so dropped it a bit to keep the numbers up. Upped JM press, was fearing the worst and while numbers unexpectedly took a little dip, it was only a little one. Rope pull aparts moved OK, little awkward on the shoulder being overhead but decent reps here. Moved SLRs up next, was laying on the floor and am blaming this for the rep drop somehow, but the reps felt good and shoulder took the movement well. I wasn't going to OHP at all but chucked in some light kneeling presses (they were tough), lots of noises but not too much discomfort - undecided about stupidity level of doing these yet and PWO shoulder was a bit sore. Done some tennis ball rolling and stretching and it's eased off now.

How long you been doing the high rear cable?
 
Only asking as I have just done a set of face pulls tonight and I can feel my traps are feeling a bit off,neck feels tight and a bit of a dull ache in my old injury just with you saying your traps are knotted to hell wondering if this isn't helping.
 
I don't think were cut out for this BB lark anymore fancy a round of dominoes in the park instead LOL

Dbam comes, spouts some ****, DBAM goes.

I have just been mulling over my need to do any trap work at all and will likely ditch that sort of work tomorrow... so yes, I share your wonderments. As for dominoes, I'd probably break a nail selecting my tiles

So lots of PWO aching yesterday in the shoulder, woke up this morning and it felt quite good. PreWO mobility felt good, training felt good. Until about half way thru then it starts to seize again and now it aches again but it's all par for the course and should go down in time for upper body work on Friday LOL
 
Bent Over BB Row: 10x40, 5x60, 80, 110x14, 12, 12, 12, 11, 12
V bar Pull Down: 6x#9, #14x14, 12, 12, 12, 9, 9
Rear Cable Delts: #1x14, 14, 15, 15, 14, 13
DB Curls: 20s x12, 10, 9, 9, 8, 8
Plate Preachers: 32.5x13, 11, 9, 8, 9, 9
 
Did some scap chins and lat stretches, some neck massaging plus a little thoracic mobility and was moving well. Rows and V bar PD had no issues at all, wasn't until I hit rear delts that mobility issues presented themselves, but anyway. Rows were solid, up 4kg and matching reps pretty well and feeling strong. Kept V bar weight the same, row work had some fatigue impact but moved well enough, no pains and forced an extra rep on each set. Rear delts work just wasn't comfy altho I suspect a lot of pec tightness from yesterday's DOMS isn't helping - light weight and high reps. Went up on curls which cost some reps but did 6 sets. Kept plate preachers the same altho unsurprisingly these took a hit in volume from everything else, all to fail anyway.

I am definitely dropping face pulls put a nasty night in last night and today got a tension headache coming from my neck training in about a hour so that should be fun

I do feel better after a good roll on my neck and traps, scap chins feel nice too.... but it's all temporary. Tension headaches for me are nearly always knotted trps
