I really connection with the band Staind, with the lead singer Aaron Lewis esp.   TBH i've lived for years with with mental anguish over my daughter, my etc and the music and lyrics just drop exactly into how i've felt and lived, how each of my days has passed and in general it encapulates what I've felt.

So for you, who or what catches what you feel inside?  Doesn't have to be music...

I have always been able to relate to Eminem but his new album Relapse concerning his recovery from addiction is much more personal to me.

I could relate to a lot of rap music when I was younger, I seem to have lost it now tho.
I prefer trance music mainly these days.

Rock music - I find it very difficult to relate to/even listen to.
    I actually find it depressing.
I think if I listened to that type of music that you have suggested, I would find it difficult to stay positive/get out of bed.
    Everyone is different tho!

I read a lot of biographies so I frequently find people I can relate to, in a variety of ways.

Edit: Actually, I can relate to a lot of that type of music from the 60s/70s, it just the more modern stuff that drives me spare.
