Do you prefer your choice of music at the gym?

I am handing in my personal USB filled with my favorite workout songs to the gym trainer so he can put it on for me. The list mostly includes Rocky soundtrack themes and songs and Akon songs. Also a few rock, RnB songs here and there. Have you ever done that? Would you like to do that?

If I was the gym staff then I'd be happy to play that over the usual crap they play.

Not all the time, it's up to them really. I am not going to ask them play it for me every time. At the moment they don't have much songs and are actually playing the same music they had 2 years ago.

No. Everyone has different musical tastes. True, the commercial sh!te most gyms play is repetitive and bland but I wouldn't be so arrogant in forcing my own favourites onto others whether they liked it or not.

And I would be seriously annoyed if I had to listen to Akon or any other (c)rap music. Personal opinion mind. :)

Currently my gym is playing late 90s Ibiza trance cds which I'm happy enough with. Usually though I use my own iPod with earphones.

My gym plays real **** music. Hip hop and, annoying dance ****e. They have one rock cd which is mostly ****tish pop punk. However at least 50% of the gym would dislike 50% of what I would choose. Though I reckon a classic rock album comp would prob go down well.

As long as it doesn't drown out the sound of my audio books and podcasts I don't care.

My current gym always has music on quite quietly, which is annoying, and they repeat the same sets which is also annoying - my last gym in London had a fantastic sound system, and they played it loud, the PTs often encouraged me and others to bring our own music in, they said they'd happily put it on

The music at the gym I train at the moment is pretty good although a bit quiet, theres a good mixture of stuff in there, none of this top 40 BS. I listen to headphones loudly when I train so doesnt really bother me what they play but it's pretty reassuring to know I won't be driven crazy if I forget my headphones for a session.

The best sound system I've heard was at a gym called 'Spartans' in Southampton. Went there for a couple of free sessions, we went on saturdays and were the only ones in the gym. The music was really good and really loud but everyone has personal preference so what i may like, it may make someone crazy.

They do play some good music from time to time, but I usually have my own selection playing through my earphones.

Most annoying thing is having to take them out 2-3 x a session with all these people coming to talk to me.
