Does Shamrock deserve a rematch with Ortiz?

I really think there should be one (and I think I'd bet there will be). The fight was ended prematurely. At this moment in time Ortiz is the better figher but in their first match, Shamrock took absolutely everything Ortiz had. He's more than capable of causing an upset so fingers crossed there will be one.

What does everyone else think?

I think he should now know its time to retire, i think he would be a good commentator or presenter for the sport.

Well, I guess I'm on my own on this one. I agree he's over the hill but he's still one of the toughest bastar** in the UFC. I'd love to him cause the upset which he is still capable of. Then he should retire.

nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!it shouldnt happen.ken comes across as a decent bloke underneath it all but tito has pushed kens buttons too many times and had the last laugh twice, debatable stoppage or not.instead of another rehash they need to bring some new quality fighters in and let them have their shine

He's 42 was good in his prime but not as good as Frank was, a good pioneer but as seen on TUF 3 his training methods are not up to speed nowadays. TITO would murder him again and its not fair really and bad for the sport.
I have watched and re watched the fight several times and IMO Herb Dean was right to stop the fight. Shamrock was out after the 2nd elbow and in no position to defend himself and made no attempt to do so.

Retire with grace and be remembered for his Pancrase and his early UFC's.

yes he can commentate he used to do king of the cage and he knows what hes on about.as far as his training methods in tuf3 he wasnt as hard on them as he is at the lions den.i have a dvd with some training footage and interviews with lions den fighters and there is no holding back.

Not sure, in the replays it didn't quite look that way to me. If he was "out" or even dazed, I doubt he'd have lunged to his feet the second the referee stood in. God knows he's taken worse beatings without acting hurt. There's no disputing he'd have needed a big slice of luck cake to beat Tito though.

Whether he could take it wasn't really the issue, he made no effort to defend himself, so it had to be stopped.

I hate Tito, and would love Ken to have another crack and beat him, but it's never going to happen now IMO.

fair point with the cardio but they would have been able to deal with opponents strength and basically onslaughts(mike nikels? wouldnt have been running away for example and wouldve been able tokeep a clearer head)a little better.also i am under no illusion that the lions den was evr almighty minus early ken and frank before he left but they were tough

^^^^^not sure if that replie will make sense as i misread steroid mans post but to clear it up but yes the initiation for the lions den was reportedly one of the toughest in mma
