Does anyone use fake tan?

Apart from those who use it when competing?

My ex wife used it and would sometimes encourage me to put a bit on when I was looking pale.  Just before we split she was training as a beautician and got the proper spray tanning kit and would sometimes give me a blast.

When we split and I started going back out on nights out it was summer and I was pasty white so I decided to buy some to look good.  Have to admit, I've got into the habit of using it if I know I've got a night out coming up.  I suppose I've got used to the look and feel a bit pasty and ill looking when it's all worn off.

And it's better than using sunbeds.

By the way, I don't use a lot and don't come out looking orange!  I would like to say it's quite subtle.

Honestly, outside the competition scene where I get the reasons why its done, I don't see the point in it. Most of us live in the UK, and I live in a place with 200 estimated days of rainfall a year, so fake tan and sunbed tans always look obviously take to me.

Having done it a few times, I've believe I have the knack of doing it without it looking fake.  Don't put too much on, don't leave it on over night.

I look so much better with a bit of a tan.  So do most people.

You do realise that leaving it on overnight and showering it off on the morning makes it look more subtle, rather than less?

Still you know that someone in the UK who has a pretty much year round tan isnt getting it naturally, so nomatter how subtle the tan may look its still obviously fake, which I really don't see the point in.

Dementia is referring to Melanotan , injectable tanning Peptide.

No I don`t use Fake tan. it simply looks "Fake"
Melanotan on the other hand gives a natural tan.

I disagree.  Having done both, I find showering before bed after 3 or 4 hours in it leaves me less orange, more natural and avoids it going all over the bed.  Honestly, I've done both.  It develops more the longer it is on.

Not showering is a cheaper option. Granted it does take several weeks to kick in but eventually you do notice a darker colour developing.

Used correctly it gives excellent results.
I tan well anyway but used it last year, achieved an excellent tan with only small amount of sun exposure.
I could watch myself tanning over a period of half an hour in the sun. This was in the weak early spring sun that we had last year. Everyone asked me where I had just been on holiday.
I find the sunrays we get these days are very harsh and don`t wish to contract skin cancer.
Most guides recommend doses that are far too high IMO .
I found that dosing approx 300mcg. 15 mins before sun exposure and again post exposure gave good results with no need for the  "preloading" suggested in the MT guide.
I guess for lighter/sensitive  skinned individuals higher doses would be better.
I found that I didnt need to use the whole 10mg vial.
My skin is still darker than its ever been even now, my melanin levels appear to have been raised long term.
I am unwillingly to expose myself for long periods of time to the sunrays that we get now.
They are much more stronger in the U.V. range than when I was a kid and used to run around all summer just about naked ..LOL

Cannot say it's my thing. Needs to be a very mild effect to not look like a tool to me. Male or female. But if someone enjoys it go for it.

No problems for me, choose a reputable supplier and practice good hygiene when injecting.
Apologies to O.P. for thread going off on a tangent.

Okay I thought it was a case of inject it and you'll get a tan in any weather, I do tan fairly easily I never use sun cream because I don't burn.

I take it mt2 and sun beds is a stupid idea then

You still need exposure, MT2  simply stimulates production of more melanin and allows one to achieve a tan with less exposure. So you can still use sunbeds you just need less time on them.
The MT guide is good its just the doses that need to be reviewed IMO.
