Does your doorbell/buzzer/knocker scare the sh1t out of you?

Whenever my doorbell rings I get a horrible sense of impending doom.

As far as I'm aware no-one is after me, but when my doorbell rings I often find myself cowering beneath my window and slowly closing my curtains in the hope that whoever it is at my door will go away.

I've even been known to do this when I'm actually expecting people.

There's someone at my front door right now, and I have butterflies in my stomach and my palms are sweating.

What would you do?

I'd answer it, but then again, I'm not crackers

As far as I know, forgiveness is for the benefit of the person doing the forgiving, not the one being forgiven

If you dont answer it you will be worrying about who called, this is why I always answer private/with-held numbers because it would bug me more if I didn't answer it and therefore would never know who it was!

Just answer the door, you freak!

Nothing contributes so much to tranquilizing the mind as a steady purpose - a point on which the soul may fix its intellectual eye.

I can see who it is at my door.

It appears to be an immigrant gentleman who wants me to switch my gas supply to Npower.

Why do they persecute me so?

I can hear his voice as he tries to talk my neighbour into switching. He's certainly not from London.

I just finished screaming at an idiot trying to sell me a mobile phone contract through the phone. I dont know where they got my number from.
Just answer the door. If its a salesman/woman just tell them to piss off.

    lol!

I must admit, when someone knocks at my door and I'm not expecting anyone, for some reason I always think it may be the Police! Dont know why, but I just think it will be!

It was the police knocking once a few years ago but they weren't after me!

No but my big, cowardly cat always makes a rapid exit via the rear cat flap.
