Eating and Woring out?

Hi All,

This might be a stupid question or in the wrong section but was unsure where to post.

I am currently following a program of weight training 3/4 Times a week and going to start running on the alternative days.

My girlfriend is also doing 3/4 Times a week of her fitness video and running on the laternative days.

We are also on a Diet plan which is like the Special K diet where we have Cereal in the Morning and then again in the afternoon with some fruit and then a main Meal in the evening.

What i want to know is should we be eating before we doing our routines as in Weight Training.workout video(GF) and running or after.

Cheers for any help

You're eating nothing but two bowls of cereal and one other meal, every day? This sounds like an absolutely awful diet. What are your goals? If you are trying to gain muscle, that's simply not going to happen with this diet. If you're trying to lose weight, you will because of the ridiculous caloric deficit you're creating, but your muscles will shrivel up and disappear due to lack of nutrients and you will just look skinny and malnourished.

I would sort out your diet first and foremost!

    I agree with CitizenKane...

The Special K diet may work for women who want to "waste away" as quickly as possible, but if you want to preserve/gain muscle, you need to change your diet.

Okay, so I have only started this diet as of monday so think I may be stopping it.

What sort of Diet should I be on then, as I will be doing my Weight in terms of Muscle and Conditioning and also runnig for CV to burn fat.

But what is the best sort of things I can eat in terms of helpigng me lose some weight and also eat enough.

Or will the fact i am Training in the Gym amd running deal with the weight I need to lose.

I am 11st 11lbs and idealy want to be down to about 10st and half for my height.

It is mainly fat around my belly and chest but i understand the weight loss will come off wherever it decides and not where i want.

Only wanting to lose a stone, how much will the weight training and Running help towards that compared to the dieting if i go on a proper one

    Cheer again for advice

Anyone got any ideas on this

I mean I am thinking of eating some sort of routine like below

    Breakfast - Cereal(Weetabix)
Lunch - Some Pasta with sauce and Fruit
Tea - Main Meal which will be things
                Chicken Pasta
                Bolognese
                Chilli
                Steak

Not sure if this is the kind of lines I should be on if wanting to lose a bit of weight and gain Muscle while doing my Running and Gym work

    Cheers again for any advice

Better to post it in the diet section here - http://www.muscletalk.c.../Diet-Nutrition-f11.aspx
