I watched this earlier in the olde book, not as fast as I'd hoped..... :/ only joking, the man is a mutant. I wonder what the odds on him being the first man to deadlift 500kg! He must be looking at atleast 470+ in a suit and belt now.

The bloke is absolutely unreal. Better than Benedikt though? I'm not so sure.

Big tick on his static strength front - unreal, awesome, incredible
Question mark over mobility and cardiovascular capability - sort this and he'll be a WSM winner before long

Ed has already improved upon those weaker links, but he admits himself that he still need to work on them.

I saw him crush the winter strongman comp last month and he was pretty quick on his feet then for a 27 stone man. He's just getting better and better.

Yeh no doubt he is improving, and not far off, but not quite there yet. He also has an unfortunate habit of losing concentration at vital moments and rushing (remember recent axle press).

My mate competed at that, said Eddie was incredible.

Technique comments are just nitpicking; who`s form does not suffer when pushing that hard?
    That`s awesome strength.

He is definitely doing something right in training, its just phenomenal that he's doing those kind of numbers. There are guys around the world with top s&c coaches, the knowledge of powerlifting clubs behind them doing all sorts of westside, eastern block inspired routines not pulling those numbers. What's his secret?

I just hope he doesn't do a Glenn Ross and ruin any chance of athleticism in the pursuit for size. As whenever he's in interviews he always seems to talk about being heavier for next year. Guys like bjorn andre solvang show you don't have to be fat to be strong. Even Thor Bjornsson is cutting up.

A breath-taking lift. I think he has proved he can match and probably beat Benni. If he hadn't dropped that bar he'd be joint world record holder.

On that day too, it's worth mentioning that Ed pulled all the weights including one twice after his strap slipped... He then held the weight at the top and gave an interview so he wasn't even fresh going in.

I think that Benni skipped a few of the in between lifts too, so he was fresher as a result.

Makes it even more impressive that his absolute brute strength makes up for his inexperience and lapses in concentration.

I'd love to know what makes someone be able to do this.  I don't mean the training/diet I mean where this strength comes from and more importantly how his lower back can handle such strain. They should examine his muscle cells vs a normal lifter. There's gotta be some big difference. Super human for sure!
