Ephedrine & Caffeine - a female point of view
I have been lurking here for a while (as one does initially ~ LOL) and have had a million questions answered, just by doing search after search. I have to be honest, the questions I wanted answers to were all about AAS and 'other' supplements. I was reading the sticky on the men's board on an E/C/A stack and altho it was very informative, I felt that it was 'slightly' biased towards men with regard to dosages etc., so I thought I'd post my own experiences with it, just in case any other first time ladies may be tempted to try it ~ one of the Mod's suggested I posted it here too ~ this is it...
This is a really good thread, but the downside is that dosages etc. are geared for males and we all know that what works for man, doesn't necessarily work the same way for a female.
There must be loads of ladies that search this board, looking for information on various 'supplements', but are perhaps a little afraid to post because it may make them look naive and inexperienced, or doubtful of trying the 'supplement' out simply because the dosages are geared for men.
I thought I'd post my own experience of ephedrine and caffeine (no asprin) to share with other ladies who may be contemplating trying this out.
Firstly, I did a lot of research, not just on this board, but everywhere - to check dosages/frequency/side effects. Then I did some basic calculations and discovered it's by FAR cheaper to make your own stack, which I did.
The Eph I bought came in at 30mg and I figured this was way too high for a first timer - so, the first couple of times I took it, I simply cut the tab in half and took it with 100mg of Caf, with a glass of water, on an empty stomach. I have to admit I felt so weird, it almost put me off taking it again - but the saving grace was that my W/O was unbelievable.
My appetite was supressed for a good few hours, which was good, I had to remind myself to eat - I didn't find that a problem. I upped this dose to twice a day, being careful not take it after about 4pm, just in case it affected my sleep - it didn't. Did this for about 1 week and then took what I thought was a HUGE step and increased the dose, so I was taking 1 whole 30mg Eph tab amd 200mg caff - not really because I needed to, more I think to see what I could tolerate. On this dose initially, I felt a little sort of 'spaced out' for a short while, but nothing I couldn't cope with, the W/O's were becoming more and more intense, a few more reps, more sets with more weight.
Now I originally decided to take this stuff to control my appetite and curb my cravings while cutting - of course, I knew thru the research I'd done that this stuff would give you an energy boost, but had no idea what it would feel like!!! It's an odd sort of feeling to describe - I certainly don't feel like I could run a marathon (at this point I haven't even introduced cardio yet), but it's more like a voice saying 'do another set, try a heavier weight' and I do, it's as simple as that.
I've stayed at 30mg Eph/200mg caff, once a day, early a.m. on an empty stomach, prior to my W/O. I've not needed to take any more during the day, as my appetite is supressed BIG TIME. It makes me sweat a fair bit, but I can live with that, it also makes my mouth very dry - so I just drink more water. It doesn't mix with alcohol, at least not for me (I know, I'm not supposed to drink alcohol while cutting, but it was a oneoff b/day party). I've lost about 1 lb per week since taking it and haven't done ANY cardio AT ALL - but in saying that, the W/O's have become VERY intense and obviously that's a compensating factor.
Lastly I'd like to add that I've been cycling carbs and cycling carbs usually makes me feel tired, sometimes lethargic and also affects the weight I use, but this hasn't happened this time around - quite the opposite in fact.
I hope this will help any ladies out there, who may be thinking of trying this ~ perhaps I should have posted this on the ladies board ~ any opinions??
