Equipment for power/oly lifting

First off, what is the difference between the two.

I was going to take a sheet of 1/4 inch plywood and buy some matting for it...would that be a suitable lifting platform?

Also, would I be able to do lifts such as cleans, snatches, etc on the above mentioned platform, with regular iron weights?

Where can I get cheap rupper flooring?

i would figure home depot to be a good place to start... i dunno about using regular iron weights if ur planning on dropping them on the platform... they make get brittle over time and might smash.. i know ironmind sells rubber coated york barbell plates... they are much cheaper than the eleiko bumper plates.. try and look around for a few second hand bumper plates

Just to answer your first question: Powerlifting is squat/deadlift/bench. Olympic lifting is snatch/clean & Jerk.
