Evening Cardio on Empty Stomach?

I've read the sticky article at the top regarding fuelling for cardio.

Under Steady State Cardio in the Afternoon for Fat Loss it advises to eat 2-2.5 hours before the session.

Would there be any benefit to increase the time since the last meal? Would it mimic the efficency of AM unfuelled cardio if one hadn't eaten since lunch time (5 hrs)?

1230: Lunch
1800: Cardio

or is going that long without food going to cause other problems?

Personally I would always favour morning cardio for steady state for fat loss.

But if I had to do it in the evening like you suggested I would not like to go so long without a daytime meal and would have a small protein/fat only meal somewhere between your 12.30 lunch and the cardio session. I would also do the same for my lunchtime meal. I probably would not have any carbs after 11am so it would be 7hours carb free b4 cardio.

    12.30pm - Lunch (protein/fat)

    3.00pm - Meal (protein/fat)

    6.00pm - Cardio

I have a middle of the night shake (whey/casein/fat) at 3.00am and do morning cardio at 6.30am so it would be quite similar to that.
