FAO Bouncers/Doormen

The venue I usually work at on a Saturday night is run by myself and another guy on the door. It's not known as a trouble spot, I ve been there about 6 months and there's only been a few incidents.

I've been asked to work on my own Fri night, the venue doesnt usually take on security for a Friday night.

Im in 2 minds whether to do it.

On one side, i need the cash, on the other, I dunno is it worth it.

What do ye all think?

Bar staff are mainly fit birds.

I wouldnt rely on the manager based on past incidents.

Sounds silly to me, two on Saturday, one or none on a Friday?  Tell the management you want your buddy with you.

    Unaffiliated.

Have you questioned the management on why their suddenly taking on security for the friday night when previously then didn't.

Look, you know the venue, you know most of the punters, just be extra careful who you let in, much easier to have a confrontation at the door than inside.

I dont work the doors anymore, but I would and thats how Id play it.

The other thing is make sure you have some tasty mates in, they cant be working but could lend a hand should you be in trouble.

I could just see it leading to "well that went well with one doorlad on a friday............I'd say we can get away with one doorlad on a saturday" from the managment.

tbh all the places I worked had teams of 8-22, only rarely worked with venues with 2 and never 1

I wish I was more attractive like Dagless.

I worked with 2 often, small intimate places, and on occasion a venue where I knew everyone on my own.

Not to be encouraged, but as a one off and given the details as long as he's experienced enough and sensible he should be ok.

Personally I think this kind of scenario is best handled by an old hand.

Im afraid im only in the game 2 years. The venue will be too tight to fork out for 2 lads on a friday night and if I dont take the hours, someone else will.

Done quite a few with 2 on.

Worked once by myself, only because I didnt know it would only be me lol, only been doing it a few months. The only danger I had was fighting off boredom
