Fao Mods, support journal for feeling low?

Hi,
Just seeing the number of posts from members recently regarding various states of depression and feelings of anxeity and general misery, it got me thinking that it is often one of the best ways to help people with this is to give them a place to write how they feel openly and then others can give support from their own experience or (since theres a couple of people who are professionals in the area) sound advice on the subject.
Do you think we can set up a specific journal for anyone to post their day-to-day feeling and issues as a way to vent their troubles?
Let me know what you think.

It would be possible to use the journal section for this but it has limited traffic compared to General. Most people post in this section as there are a lot of people who come in here and as you say, there are many members in similar states so peer help is pretty good.

Maybe a single thread in the General forum dedicated to depression and the like? just a thought.

id add to this that this isnt a support forum its a bodybuilding/powerlifting forum. There are depression support forums you can join on the interent with professionals in the area and other depressed individuals that are availible to give help and advice. And you would most likely get better advice from that sort of forum too. Despite this I'm sure everyone in the general forum here at MT would be willing to talk about each others problems, what I'm saying is if your problem is serious then a forum for people that suffer from depression would offer you much better information and advice.

Me and all. I mean its nice how people feel they can fess up but no one here is qualified to help and, as had been stated, there are better places. Besides it's depressing to read such topic titles... (coat on)
