Fat to less fat 2015

I've been overweight for YEARS, for the last few years I have been(at least in my own opinion) very Revolting, at the biggest a shade over 16stone, at 5'7" its very noticeable, confidence shot and all the other stuff that go's with being over weight, depression, lack of motivation etc.

TBH I'd probably stayed at that size and just wishing I looked like sly stalone if nothing else had changed, but last year I decided that enough was enough and it was time for a few changes so I enrolled as a mature student, living in halls of residence, with a gym on site, and the nearest kebab shop is 5 miles away. I just stocked up on Diet Whey, bought a new pair of trainers and started off going to the gym twice a week in September.  I've lost 1 & half stone since September and want to lose(and keep it off) another 4, bringing me to my ideal weight of 11.  Im now upto 5 sessions of cardio a week.

I've noticed that my confidence is better, mental attitude is better, stamina is improving, all I have to do now is wait, the diets in place, and the hours at the gym are now a foregone conclusion, the commitment and determination are all in place.

Pik one is me in the spring of 2013

Food intake
Nutrition I'm consuming about 1800 Kcal made up of;
1x MR Shakes @ 8-30
1x Portions of fruit @ 10-30
1X MR Shake @ 12-30
1x Portions of fruit @ 3pm
1x Evening meal between 5&7.30 PM(depending what shift cycle I am on)
of Casserole & Mash or dumplings- (Normally chicken) or Jacket Potato & Tuna Mayo if its been nippy outside, chicken or Tuna couscous/Pasta salad if its mild enough that I don't want hot food.

Hydration is normally:
1x Pre Workout(No-Xplode) made with sugar free squash for flavour
between 750ml or 1500ml water during the workout
750ml of Dioralite & Squash post Workout
1Ltr of coffee or 1Ltr of water throughout the work day and at least another pint of water or herbal tea in the evening I have a pint mug and normally make at least one trip to the fridge or kettle, so that is normally more.

Ideally I could cut down on my tea/coffee and squash intake and just go for water, but I wouldn't be able to take enough in, as it is I've cut out almost all of the nasty **** from my diet.

Piks from tonight are a few months into the training, but following the Christmas blowout of booze and foods.
No weigh in as the gym scales are fubar at the moment.

    Thanks Lone Wolf

I've gone from 15-7 in September to 14-9 in December, (the scales in the gym are fubar so not sure what I am at the moment.) so well on the way, as soon as the gut has been given the boot I'm sure I'll look top dollar.

Good work so far, keep it consistent! I'd drop the rehydration sachet you're using post workout by the way, not needed.

I'd also throw in some schedules higher calorie days to keep you're metabolism going - 1800 cals is pretty low (especially with 5 cardio sessions pw) and doesn't really give you anywhere to go when progress starts to slow down.

Get yourself started with a good weights routine (Google strong lifts) as that'll have a much better impact on how you look than cardio alone (and it's more fun!)

Good luck with it - the other journals are always worth a read for some extra motivation too :)

Thanks, I'll look at the when I have a spare few mins on the web.  I'm having one day a week where the shake gets dropped in favour of a grilled breakfast, normally over the weekend when I'm still flush from payday.  I'm waiting Rather impatiently) for one of the PT's at the gym to get back to me with a programme that should include everything, so touch wood He'll show me how its done.

    Cheers for the encouragement.

This weeks progress has been none existent, skipping the weigh in and piks as I haven't done anything, over the weekend I've been struck down with tonsillitis, so really felt like something the cat dragged in.  Hopefully it will be on the wane soon and I can get back  to it.

Turns out I lied- Just had an amazon order turn up of a set of bathroom scales- 14 stone 3 &1/2 not sure how much I gained over Christmas but its still a drop on the December reading.

Though this is just as likely down to variations in scale accuracy and time of day as anything else, but even so, not bad to be going on with.  another 4lb by half term would be nice, and from the looks, quite manageable.

    Thanks Lone.

Tonight the figures are 14-0- & 3/4- Still not worked out since last time due to the tonsillitis, but tomorrow is the first day back in the gym, still not sorted but 2 weeks is long enough off.  It feels good to be at the 14stone mark, especially after not working out for almost 2 weeks, but it feels shocking not going for so long, especially as I want to build up the habbit.

In other news I'm looking at adding green tea to the daily schedule as well as changing the vitamin & Joint supplements, hoping to get them all from the same place rather than making a trip to Holland & barret every few weeks for Cod liver oil etc, and I've added the high calorie days- a grilled breakfast and steak for evening meal one day every weekend.
