Fear of die'ing ?

Abit of a morbid post, but does anybody fear die'ing?

Do you think thats it for the whole for eternity, or do you think theres an afterlife or do you just think you will be worm food and couldn't care less

The thought of it often creeps into my mind at funny stages throughout the day, some days more than others, but I have to say the whole thing scares the poo out of me.

No real fear of dying i suppose. After death there is nothing. What else could there be? We just decompose as our molecules/atoms drift off to form other matter.

Nothing contributes so much to tranquilizing the mind as a steady purpose - a point on which the soul may fix its intellectual eye.

i used to be scared until i was at the top of a building and realised that if i walked just one more step everything would become nothing and none of it would matter.
And at that point i realised that tupacs' words 'im not afraid of death, i just don't wanna die yet' were so true.

I am the same, could drive like a twat all day risking my life on each turn and not think a thing .Do loads of gear with no fear of death.
But lay in bed of a night and think about the (D word) and the fear runs all over me.

I'm not generally afraid of death on a day to day basis, because my life is not usually in great danger

i honestly couldnt care less about death... my view is if it happens it happens.
the only thing i would like to know is that my family is taken care of (mum n dad).
as above i fear the death of my parents more than anything.

I'm not scared of dying. But i dont want to die either!
I'm curious as to what happens after you die and i think that there probably is some sort of after life.
But we will never know till our day comes!

Personally I think this testicle tenderness is due to my recent return to AM cardio. I do it naked on a recumbent bike and my gonads tend to flop about.

It freaks me out, had major issues with it several years ago but have kind of trained myself not to think about it..... was quite obsessed by it at some point and still have my moments

What about the thought of die'ing though Drab, knowing that one day that could be it for the whole of eternity?

I'm not too worried about that aspect of it to be honest mate

The thought of becoming a rotting corpse does not bother me in itself

However, the thought of losing all that I have would p'ss me off! I mean if I died, everything I had in my life, my relationships, my experiences, would cease. So of course I want to stay alive for these reasons, to keep on experiencing life. I have things to live for, therefore I want to stay alive

There was a time some years ago when I was depressed due to a mental illness I had, when I did in a way wish for death. This was because I believed that I had nothing in my life (I was nuts). I certainly didn't fear death then, I did think about it a lot though. Just an end to everything. It seemed an attractive proposition at the time. The only reason I'm alive now is that I did not want to upset/ humiliate my family by killing myself. So I stayed alive, which turned out to be a good thing in the end, as I got better and now years later I have a really good life

So for me, I don't really think about death these days. Life is what I think about

I do understand where you're coming from though. Mortality is a concept which is innately interesting to us humans, I think

That sounds like me too, I suffer from anxiety and im sure the cause of it all is the above, die'ing freaks me out that much that it causes anxiety quite bad some days, I refuse to take meds for it though, im trying to convince myself that im just being stupid.

I found it took over my every day thoughts, I could barely sleep at nights as once my eyes shut I couldn't help but try to imagine. I cancelled a once in a life time holiday as I couldn't control what could happen on the plane, from going out at night to playing computer games I could only think about me and everyonelse's mortality. All cos I turned 30 LOL. I simply have to stop myself thinking about (which is more of a challenge with this thread ). I still get lapses when I start to dwel on things but I just switch my thoughts to something else, easier now I have a son and oddly enough having him around kinda lifts the burden off me a bit.

Do you find that you can take your mind of it? Must admit, it did take me a while but now I don't have problems with it dominating my life
