Feel like throwing in the towel...

Been training almost exactly 1 year now and im not sure but i think i hit my first platau already!

Week in week out going in reppin 120 on deads and squats fine, go for max 140 is about all ive got. Bench don't even ask.

Eat like fcuk, only working part time right now so plenty of sleep. And that's it cannot seem to move on with strength or size tbh.  I reckon i could fcuk it all of for months then start training again and get back to these stats in a matter of weeks!

Is this normal, do you work through it. And how often do you guys feel this way??

dont stop mate!  whatevery you do!  first off, how long since you changed your routine?  Get your diet checked out.

main thing, is gains and progress arent at all linear.  you will have times when there doesnt seem to be much at all happening, then a sudden spurt of growth and strenth increases, all you need to do is stick with it!

    but dont give up!

    Don't give up mate.

Progression tends not to be linear after awhile in this game.

There's loads of training techniques to break a plateau.

Do you have a journal? What have you been doing recently rep/set/frequency-wise for squats and deads?

Where you live?  I'll train with you and give you a kick up the arse.

Failing that, get on the creatine and you'll be 15 stone ripped in less than 6 weeks.

    Unaffiliated.

Thing is i hit this wall like 2 months back or so and in the last few weeks ive tried switching my routine up.....still no results!

Can't explain how frustrating it is! Don't wanna get so annoyed i go and injure myself either.

Why not post up everything your doing, your routine and diet in the other forums and have everything stripped away and come at feeling like your starting again?

Have you taken any long breaks?...maybe take a couple of weeks off?

The weights wont beat you if you let your mind do it first.

What were you doing previously and what were you doing in the 'last few weeks'?

ok mate, then its really just a question of finding what needs to ba changed in order to start gaining again.

obvious one first, whats your weekends like?  and be honest mate so we can help!  reccy drugs? drink?  diet out of the window?

next thing, is whats your diet?  again, dont post what you would like to eat or think you should, post a typical days food, just as it is.  Noone will judge if its not perfect

after that, then we can look at your routine

stick at it its takes years to build a good body, keep going even if you dont move up weights you will be getting your tendons and things stronger and more endurance and the weight will creep up

Completely agree, try changing your routine a bit, push some more reps for a few weeks etc.  Sounds like you just need a bit of a change.  Happened to me when I plateaued, I didn't want to change what I was doing, but when I did I quickly got into the new routine.

you have got to think, the difference between people who are stong and look good and those that dont is the fact that they just keep trying and dont give up or slack off

Its the same with my Vert leap in basketball even with training it's barely increased!

I have a m8 you had his appendix out, 3 weeks after the op he came down to a training sesh in joggers and hoody with no warm up ran up and Dunked with minimal effort.

Maybe you either have it or you don't...
