Couldn't answer the poll as i've done both. Sometimes it makes sense the back down or run even though it hurts your pride. Better then being dead i suppose.

Youd be weird if you chose the exact same reaction in every circumstance. Different situations require different choices.

Hmmmmm I think the fight or flight response is one beyond our control, is it not? Rather than choosing to 'fight', as it were, or choosing to 'do one'? The automatic survival instinct of the beast when confronted with a potentially life threatening situation......

The main one was when my mate and i were walking back from town and a car pulled up and 4 guys got out, acting like knobs, then started throwing punches. My mate could not fight for **** and i was only about 13 stone at the time but i started to fight, and as soon as i ran one of them into a wall, the driver of the car got out and had metal nun chucks. There were now 5 of them, with a weapon and saying they were going to stab us, with no one else around, so we legged it!

Both, including calming the situation down as opposed to "running away".

FIrst option is run away as the saying goes "he who lilves to run away...", only ever been in around 6 real fights my whole life really, most of them were school bullies who got more than they bargained for

I wasent having a go at the topic mate. I was just pointing out that different circumstances require different actions. If i were having to fight 3 opponents, the smart move would be to run. However if it were just one opponent id likely stay and fight.

    Usually fight. Depends on circumstances.

For example if a adolescent threw a punch i wouldnt started knocking seven shades of sh1t out of him!

Mind you if I find that little fecker who's been throwing stones at my window I might change that!
