Finally deadlifted my weight for reps

When I started working out in 2004, I set a goal for myself. Deadlift/bench press/squat my weight. Well, I lasted for about 6 months and then gave up. I started up again in January, and have been going hard, every week, since then. I finally managed to deadlift my weight for reps (150lbs at 5x5). The hardest thing for me wasnt my back or form, but my grip strength, which was pathetic. A friend of mine who does rock climbing gave me some exercises to do to strengthen my grip (hangs mostly, and wrist rollers) and they worked wonders, because I was able to do all my reps and not once did I think my grip was slipping. Not a very big weight to lift, but it still feels great for me, because its the first time Ive hit any of my goals. Next up is squat (at 125 right now), and bench press (at 105 right now).

shut up and lift

I have grip problem on my deadlifts too. Found have a mixed grip helped a lot. i.e. one overhand and the other underhand. You might be doing this already but if not give it a try.
