First log training session,

First llittle session in the gym post comp,
Had little play with my new training log, thanks shawn,

FIrst time I have touched one of these, they are pretty awkward arent they!
Found the clean to the top of the chest pretty difficult on the higher weight,
It is really hard to push from the legs too,
got up to 1 rep of 102kg
Not bad, but need to get much much better at this!

As everyone has said it just takes practice!!! It's taken me along time to get my Log to a respectable level but once you get the hang of it you'll be okay. I have found the ways I've brought my log press up is by doing loads of CG Bench, Incline bench and tricep work. Also practice using your legs as when the timing comes it makes a massive difference.

    Uptodate to this,
    I am now upto 121KG,
    So progress is coming quick,
Lots of close grip and incline bench has helped, which I could push more with my legs and quicker,
managed 3 reps of 160 close grip so i know the tricep power is there,
trying to go up 2.5kg a week?

I find it difficult to get decent leg drive on log press, and the thicker the log is, the more of a problem it is. With a bar, I can get a good flick from the legs.

My current best log press is 113.5, but I'm quite inconsistent. I'm desperate to be doing 120+, and want to learn a weightlifting 'dip' technique to get me there in the short term. I don't have good triceps (have dodgy elbows and dislike arm training).
