First thing in the morning cardio?

Hi guys I've seen it said alot that cardio on an empty stomach after the night before sleeping is a great idea, that it does alot more than the same amount of cardio just later on in the day.

My question is how long can you wait for this?

So when I wake up it takes me 20 mins to get out of bed/get alive (i drink water from the night before during this to wake me)

Then takes me a good 20 mins after getting up properly to wake myself up enough for cardio.

So is 40 mins after waking up, while consuming nothing but water good enough?      Or is the idea of it to roll out of bed and within 15 mins of waking be on the treadmill or whatever?

But saying that if you do your cardio at a gym, im saying it'd take a good 40-60 mins before a person can wakeup and be at a gym, i have a treadmill at home so is this 40 minute time frame i have pretty acceptable to hit the benefits of waking up and doing cardio?:)

Thanks guys

^^ that.

You'll notice no real world difference whatever time you do it so long as you get it done.

Calories out > calories in = weight loss. Cardio AM/PM, doesn't matter.

I agree with the calories in and out part. Does it play a difference if you are doing it on an empty stomach? Say more fat burned?

I can't do this. I'm not a morning person at all. And to train with no food, well, to me that equals no energy so I would probably just fall in a heap on the floor.

Okay I've seen experts saying it is better on an empty stomach to do cardio i just like to get mixed opinions, so i guess its one of those that people debate about then. I guess 40 mins after waking up doing some cardio after water intake/wake up time is okay i guess then, and "maybe" it is better on the empty stomach maybe not lol :)

thanks guys

It's an old school suggestion and staple, hence why it is still so popular today.

If it fits better into your day to do it first thing in the morning, then that's cool... But if you can't do it then, and do it another time, it's still cool.

As Welsh Wizard has said, it's the whole equation that matters.
