Flax seed oil wasn't refrigerated

The flax seed oil I've got wasn't refrigerated.

I put it in the refrigerator as soon as I got home, will it be ok even tho it wasn't refrigerated in the shop?

Thanks

Have you opened it yet? ? ?

If you havent opened it you dont have to keep it in the fridge.

Once open, keep in the fridge.

I opened it straight away then put it in the fridge.

So if its not open, its fine in the shop not in the fridge.

    Thanks mate

    Err yeh its aweful.

I made the mistake of buying some, opening it and leaving it in the car then putting it in the fridge the next day then having some.

So it only taste bad if you open it, leave it out for a while, then fridge it.

Is it soppose to taste ok if you fridge it stright away after opening it?

Not sure mate, I wouldn't chuck it, just use it.

    Mine the H&B stuff.

So it only tastes bad if it didn't go in fridge after opening it? I put mine in the fridge stright away after opening it, so it should taste ok, shouldn't it?

I find it tastes just as vile in the fridge or not.

I put 5ml on a spoon 3 times a day and neck it with orange juice. Works nicely.

Its gorgeous stuff, straight out the fridge its got a nutty creamy taste. I am gonna add it to some salad at the weekend as I reckon that it will taste really nice.

When bottled the oil will in an oxygen free bottle. I assume they remove the oxygen and add in an inert gas. The bottle will also be heavily tinted to keep out light.

When you open the bottle oxygen will get in and start oxydising the oil. Keeping it in the fridge will slow this right down so the oil will last several weeks.

You'll know when its off it taste horrible

chuck it, 4weeks in a cupboard it will be as rancid as hell. 4weeks in the fridge is like the max it will last.

Once opened you must put straight in the fridge. What I do is put in the fridge sealed, then when I open it the oil is already at fridge temperature which is even better.

LOL at this... I had some for about 3 months, guess where I kept it? On the window sill (in the sun) 24/7
Get rid, and get the tablet form. Easy!

The fresh oil is far cheaper and providing you store it correctly then there is no problem. You can get the oil in sainsbury or tesco which is good.

absolutely, only in the bigger tescos like the tesco extra. Its in with the "health and alternative foods" like all the gillian mackeith crap etc.

I asked for it in asda (a big asda) and got a blank face response
