Losing the Champions league final. By loads. I can't remember the actual figure. Financially though, winning the Championship play off final pi$$es on them both.

Was looking at an article the other day which showed English teams made around £500,000 profit on average from the UEFA cup so I would imagine it wouldn`t be that much more to actually win the thing so I`d say there was little comparison.

Losing the Champs league final would gain a massive amount more if the article was correct imo.

It's a sad sign of today's game where a team is actually better off losing in a cup final than winning one.

As a fan i would rather have a trophy in the cabinet.Although the Owners would not agree.

yes but comparing the quality in the uefa cup to that of the champions league is not possible! its the same as comparing the carling cup to the premiership! Same game, some of the same teams but a different class in quality

In the championship there is a playoff for the final promotion place to the Premiership. The winners of that get promoted to the Premiership, and are guaranteed at least 60 million in TV money. So winning that game is the most financially rewarding in world football.

Winning the Champions league brings in around £30 million and just winning games in each round can net you over 1-2 million IIrc

According to reports the bottom 3 clubs in the premier league will lose around £45 million pounds each for being relegated

Where as getting promoted to the premier league will net a club around 20-30 million pounds

getting into the uefa cup via the fair play must be worth something

nah losing the CL final because at the end of the day more people see the final of the CL then the UEFA

also, more fans go, well it will be different this year but usually there are more fans then the 25,000 odd that will be there tonight

also is the UEFA cup final on itv1 or 2?
