Forearm training?

I was wondering, do i train forearms to get them bigger and stronger, Or shall i not train them? Because we use the arms in most training, anyway?

Help please?

    personally i dont bother

forearms get worked with pretty much everything, especially dead lifts/rack pulls/bb curls etc

then again i have TINY forearms. make my upper arm look larger by scale but still annoying :p

There is nothing wrong with doing some grip training once a week which will work out your forearms, I do a 3 day split but work out 4 times a week so one split will get done twice in a week, on back days I do grip training and I do dumbbell heavy holds, plate pinching, gripper training or wrist roller's...... You could also try reverse grip on some exercises which will hit the forearms more....

Think its personal preference really, im not sure ive ever done a forearm lift as think they get hit well with other lifts, however no problem in doing an exercise or 2 if you like

in fact im going to go back on my previous statement

im not 'huge' by any means, but its obvious i work out, but my forearms are no larger than those of my friends who dont train. i do deadlifts and have done for a number of years which of the main compound lifts i feel works my forearms the most - but ive not had much hypertrophy gains from it in my forearms.

theyre like my calves, ive always done heavy squatting and calf raises but my calves are pretty poor - id say they wouldnt be any better than those who dont train. my quads/hamstrings on the other hand whilst not being 'big' will definitely be bigger than my friends who dont train.

is it a genetics thing? i have tiny wrists - just over 6' so i suppose the forearm area is naturally quite weak/thin for me

If you want to isolate your forearms thats fine.....having big compound lifts in your routine should provide plenty of stimulus for your forearms though.
