It's a soft german cheese that tastes of natural yoghurt but with a different consistancy. It has a similar p/c/f breakdown to cottage cheese but it is slightly "cleaner".

Only slightly cleaner and nothing to be meticulous about?

    Well:

    Cottage cheese (1%):
    p/c/f - 12/3/1 (72 calories per 100g)

    Cottage cheese (2%):
    p/c/f - 14/4/2 (90 calories per 100g)

    Quark (skim):
    p/c/f - 14/5/0 (77 calories per 100g)

There's the non-fat cottage cheese, but the taste is horrible (IMO!).

The amounts can vary of course.

See the word "Search" between "Member List" & "Calendars"? Click it, type Quark in the box, select this forum and do a search and you get this http://www.muscletalk.co.uk/searchpro.asp?phrase=Quark&author=&forumid=11&topicreply=both&message=body&timeframe=%3E&timefilter=0&language=single&top=300&criteria=AND&minRank=0&sortMethod=r&submitbutton=+OK+

As James hasn't said this for a while, Quark is the noise made by a posh duck!
