Frankie Gavin, UK boxers and Beijing

Has anyone been watching Gavin as of late? I heard he had won the gold medal in Chicago at the world amateur championships at the end of 07, but I missed that completely at the time. Was it televised?? How the fook did I miss it?

Apparently we have 7 boxers going to Beijing, but I only know Gavin and Price. I think Price at super heavyweight might have a chance, but I have seen him get caught in the past, and he has looked a bit too slow. Does anyone know if he has improved much?

I know Gavin improved a hell of a lot, but will there be the same glory and hype for him as there was for Khan even if he wins gold? It seems like the lightweight division doesn't have the big name that Khan had in the Cuban Mario Kindelan. Tishchenko was good at the last Olympics, and Gavin beat him in the semi final to win the world championship.

Edited to say: Oh well, forty views and not one reply. I guess amateur boxing isn't that popular. Well, I'm excisted about Beijing anyway
