Freezing food and eating it cold

Hi all,

Trying to get a bit more organised with my food prep. Few questions about freezing food. I know it's ok if food is re-heated afterwards properly but what about if I want to eat it cold after freezing? In particular pasta and hard boiled eggs for salads.

Thanks.

No issues mate for most things.

Not sure about eggs though. You have to be careful with eggs and white meats when thawing.

If you boil a bunch of eggs they will keep in the fridge for days. I like to use them within 4 days just to be safe.

From my own experience I do not recommend to freeze eggs. Their taste is "strange" and I had always a problem with the stomach, frequent heartburn and gas. If the meat has not been frozen before - you can put it in the freezer even if you have already prepared it, but you should reheat it again later. I've never had a problem with vegetables, soups and sauces

I would not freeze any sort of meat to then eat cold.
Eggs will last about 5 days if you keep them boiled in fridge and in shell

I cook up 5kg chicken, separate into 100g portions and freeze in freezer bags. Get them out night before for following day and been doing that for years with no issue.

Same here. Not an issue. Just don't leave it around to get warm when defrosting obviously and you'll be fine.
