Progressing well mate, stick at it no need to change anything yet.

 

Is your Mrs still training with you? How's she getting on?

Rachel hasn't lifting since the last post about her lifts. It will likely take more coaxing from me to get her motivated. I am in a much better place mentally and work is going good so I can focus on my own workouts and hers properly now.

Bench press 64kg 5x5
Shoulder press 41kg 5x5
Close grip bench press 51kg 3x5

Was knackered at the end as it was a late one. Need to shift days around so I start earlier.

Going to look at doing some stomach exercises to strengthen that area and hopefully improve my posture and large belly. My belly isnt huge, just gets accentuated by my posture. If I yuck it in properly then I like my front and side ptigilr. Going this though I can tell my stomach muscles are weak.

Just ordereed 5kg of whey as I am starting to struggle with my lifts and could go sith a higher intake imo

99% of this game is diet mate. If you don't have enough fuel in your system you will only get so far. This includes protein.
 
Lifting appears to be going well but.
 
And FYI frankies is not stronglifts. similar styles, not the same. I prefer stronglifts as the site goes into greater detail.

Diet is relatively sorted at the moment, not eating any junk whatsoever, also dont drink alcohol at all and any excess fuel required is coming from the diet whey protein I have (105g of protein a day from the whey).
 
Was feeling burnt out mentally and physically so mixed my lifts up for 2 weeks and switched to a 3x8 with the same exercises and just a little less than my 5x5 weights.
Back on the 5x5 last night and it was the best I have felt for a while.
Bench Press felt strong and solid and is encouraging, also the shoulder press.
Bench press 64kg 1x5, 66kg 3x5, 1x6
Shoulder press 43kg 4x5, 1x6
Close grip BP 53kg 4x5, 1x6
 
ending all lifts with a 6 rep set and could have lifted a bit more weight. really struggling to complete the sets a few weeks ago.

Back from camping in Newgale and didn't get much sleep at all.
Bench press felt strong last week so added 4kg making it 70kg and was happy completing the 5 sets.
Micounted the weights on the shoulder press so lifted the first 2 sets a few kilos light @ 43kg Added extra to make up for it on last 3 sets @ 77kg
Was burnt out by the time I got yo the close grip bench press and managed sets of 4,3,3,2 @ 55kg

Bench press is now only 4kg off my previous best from years ago. Just need some consistency now with my workouts.

Last two workouts...

Squats 94kg 1x5 then 100kg 4x5
Straight leg deadlifts 64kg 1x5, 64kg 1x5 then 68kg 3x5
Weighted crunches 2.5kg 3x12

Tonight:
Deadlift 138kg 1x5, 148kg 1x5 then 150kg 3x5
Barbell rows 58kg 5x5
Barbell curls 40kg 5x5
Alternating dumbell curls 13kg 3x10

Have been feeling more positive and confident recently. Workouts are going well.

Bench press 72kg 5x5
Shoulder press 46kg 5x5
Close grip bench press 53kg 5x5

Squats 102kg 4x5 1x6
Straight leg deadlifts 70kg 1x5 74kg 4x5
Weighted crunches 5kg 3x12

Bench press is taking a lot out of me and makes the rest of the session extremely difficult. Would be great to hit 74kg and then have a good workout on the other exercises.
Still not overloading calories but trying to keep protein intake up.
