Eat as much as you want. If your body composition starts getting flabby adjust. Eat 3000 good calories a day if you can .... see what happens. It isn't like your are going to eat one day then the next day you wake up morbiddly fat.
There is a lot of good nutrition information on this site. That is something I do not know a lot about. My thing is proper exercise form. I lift because I like to lift I am a naturally a big guy. I grew up on a farm and worked all my life and never had a problem with growing. I am not a bodybuilder. I just like strength training and I am really technique conscious. When I was 13 I weighed 200 pounds. I carried 100 pound sack of livestock feed, buckets of water, I scooped grain etc..... every day and I ate like a horse.
What I meant by the 'Do Squats!' is work big muscle. If you grow your biggest muscles then the smaller muscle will follow. People tend to grow somewhat proportional. Reason I got so big so young was all the farm work I did. I never got into weight lifting until I was 17 or 18 years old.
