Put up an example of how you'd normally eat in a day. Use the format outlined in here: http://www.muscletalk.co.uk/fb.asp?m=1151933

We don't know your stats or how to help you make changes to your diet to help you achieve your goals because we have nothing to base our comments on. So let us know those things and we'll try to help you out.

    Diet =

    12:00 - wake up
12:00 - Whey in milk (2 heeped table spoons)
12:15 - Oats (soup bowl full)
    13:30 - Train
15:30 - Whey in water (1 1/2 heeped table spoons)
16:15 - Tinned Tuna and 3 slices of brown bread
    28:00 - Family meal
    20:00 - Natural yogurt, banana
22:00 - Beans on toast (full tin) with a splash of olive oil
00:00 - Cottage Cheese (1/2 tub) with abit of bread

Looking to gain fat and alot of it. Looking to fill out certain parts of my body where you can still see naked bone structures.

I'm not sure this is really what you want.

Of course you might think it is, but consider long and hard whether you really want to pile on the fat.

If you're typically skinny, the addition of fat will just make you look worse. You will still have stick thin limbs, married to a fat belly.

Do you really want to look like that?

You hardly include any sources of fats. And there's a lack of vegetables and fruit.

Adding sources of fat will up the calories for one thing..

The last three meals can do with more food. You can double the serving of cottage cheese if you like, and add a source of protein in the other two. Also make the preworkout feeding more of a complete meal.. you only have oats?

You can try getting some glucose/dextrose and/or maltodextrin, and have a serving or two with the whey PWO (post workout).

Look at some other sources of carbs.. you seem to have a lot of bread. There's also sweet potato, brown rice, wholemeal pasta, cous cous, etc.

    What are your stats?

I think this needs to be emphasized. Gaining fat will not improve your physique at all. You will stay skinny but add a pot belly and love handles.

    Amen.

I'm probably going to get shouted at for saying this, but I think you have some psychological issues with your self image.

You aren't stupidly thin. And, adding a fat belly will not fix this situation.

You've got a good frame to build on from what I can see. I really don't think you want to only put fat on!

Keep training hard, work on gradually eating more and more.. and get your rest. Keep these things in line and you'll see results - you'll grow.

Try to snack on things like nuts and seeds mixes, dried fruit, fruit, oat cakes, other small snacks, etc. between meals.. The calories from them can build up rapidly so it can help you out.
Eat more things you like.. try to get used to eating more.

a lot of ppl would kill to be nice and lean like that, I mean you got a six pack. I would not want to get fat if I was you, I'd want more muscle which would transform you. 2stone of muscle and you'd look awesome IMO. Even 1 stone would make a massive change. You could add a stone within a year or less if you train hard and nail your diet.

You got a good base to start with, a lot of ppl start out overweight and need to lose the fat first before adding muscle.

Also why dont you get up till mid day, unless you got a reason get up earlier as that way you got more time to eat

AnhHai I'll keep this one simple.............

Its an old wives tale the whole "oh 3 square meals a day" or "just eat and eat and eat some more!" i have after 3yrs of much studied knowledge know that for us Ectomorphs the ONLY WAY to be bigger is to do compound lifts x 3 per week and have a diet consisting of 'clean food' at regular intervals (6 x per day spaced out over 3hrs MAX) and most of all STICK TO IT. For me this is a bloody massive problem. I'm 22 and weight just over 9 stone at 5ft 10" this is **** i know but i also know that for me to change this i need to follow the above programme so either i shut up, continue being a laughin stock for being so thin OR i take note and follow the diet/training. There's no two ways about it, yes i have tried the 'Farmfood diet' and yes i did gain 7lbs (the 1st time i've gained weight in my whole life!) but sadly as everyone else has been saying it was FAT! How many people do you know that weighs 132lbs and has a beer belly? Not many but to be honest that's the way i'm looking right now. You have to realise that if you "eat eat and eat" like your granny tells you, you will just end up with them 'love handles' these ppl dont realise that with the proper regime you can do it. I thought that if i ate crap every few hrs that i would "fill out" edit** my family's favourite word for me in the future** yes fill out in the stomach but your arms/legs WILL NOT CHANGE!!!!!!! Trust me i seen a guy the other day and thought he looked really strange, a HUGE stomach and tiny wee arms and legs (must be the beer) but see how the rest of his body doesnt adjust?

Now that i have got all this into my head i know i either have to take the time out, baby or no baby (due this Monday) and do this.......I believe this takes several things

    1. Determination i.e. not just for that crush but for yourself
    2. Will-power This is the ONLY thing that will see you thru
    3. Time Give it time, also time is required in the kitchen and at the gym
    4. Self belief If you think that you cannot do this, then you never will
    5. Discipline I'm giving up alcohol for the next while, things may suffer as you attempt to better yourself

To round up, the only person to change the way you look is YOU personally i'm having a great time watching my new sky tv, eating pizza and slugging a beer while chilling in the house (getting that belly) this to me sounds bliss but at the end of the day its me that's sitting in the pub on a Saturday afternoon around my mates while everyone comments about how skinny i look and how i should go see someone......................

    To be continued!

most experienced bodybuilders will be lucky to gain 6 Ibs of lean mass in one year. 1stone in a year for a beginner is pretty good, you may be able to gain more than this in 1yr.

For the average person it will take 3-5yrs to get a decent physique.

    Keep at it Slim Jock.

I was the same as you and my mates were always bigger than me (they didnt train) so one day i said f@~K it! I started to eat right and started to train.

Guess what? Im bigger than them now. Im 13 stone and have just started a cut and i feel better than ever!

Ok, i do have a bit of a belly but thats because i over did it witht he food and piled on the cals. Give me 2 months and the belly will be gone.

What kind of food were you eating when you first began your bulk? I've now gained 8-9lbs (of fat) basically cause i havent been eating the right stuff. Yesterday i ate well but it was things like rolls & sausage, a dominos pizza & chips, complan, pop tarts, frozen asda meal, crisps etc. etc. what kind of 'clean' food were you eating? I'm kinda off chicken after my dose of food poisoning a cpl of wks ago. Gym wise i'm all set........diet wise i had the idea of:

6:30am Toxics shake (all-in-one MRP when i get paid)

9:30am Some sort of sandwich, either egg mayo, turkey, cheese & tomato etc. . .

12.30pm Some sort of chicken and veg meal (home made)

15.30pm Toxics shake (all-in-one MRP when i get paid)

18:30pm DINNER **This i'm unsure of? Not chicken as i'm off it

21:30pm Toxics shake (all-in-one MRP when i get paid)

Was your diet similar? What were your starting stats (height, waist, weight etc) How long did it take to get where you are now? Did you ever use roids or pro-hormones?

Too be honest mate those foods in bold are why you arent gaining muscle

I started when i was 10 and half stone just under 3 years ago.

You need to be eating turkey, chicken (although i dont coz i hate it), eggs, cottage cheese, peanut butter, fish, nuts, rice, oats and more oats!!, oatcakes, rye bread or wholemeal bread and plenty of milk.

Combine this with a decent training schedule centered around deadlifts, bench press and squats and you will grow.

One of the secrets is...STICKING TO THE DIET AND TRAINING!.....which im sensing is something you arent doing.
