Gaining weight......

Hey guys,

I'm pretty new to all this - only been training a matter of weeks but getting really into it. One thing I'm wondering - is it usual to put on a bit of weight when your bulking? I know it sounds a stupid question, but I'm not talking just muscle here. I'm 23, 5ft 10" and always been pretty slim with a bit of definition (normally bang on 11 stone, but was under that in the past). Anyway been training hard the past few weeks and definately feeling the gains strength wise. However I am carrying a bit more weight around the middle than I used to (verging on 11 and a half stone at the mo). Been eating lots of good food plus 2-3 whey shakes a day, a lot more than I'm used to consuming. Is this natural? I know all the weight I've put on aint 100% muscle so some must be fat. Should I carry on eating and lifting regardless then maybe get into a cardio routine in 2-3 months? Cheers

Shaun

Yes don't worry about it. Your bound to encounter some fat gain on a serious bulk.

Just measure your BF % (purchase callipers if you don't have them) and keep an eye on it.

When it's beginning to become a problem just begin cutting or introduce cardio to prevent further deposits..

    Yep, sounds about normal.

If you think you're gaining too much FAT for your liking then clean up the diet a bit or add some cardio..
