Gay guys and the gym

Hey guys, I was just wondering are there any gay guys on this forum? I wanted to know how you are treated in the gym. Do other see you as a threat or do you think they see you as improving your body for the soul purpose of pulling guys lol?

Have any of you had bad experiences from others when you attend your gym?

What are your reasons to improve your body, for you or others? (be honest)....

I used to work with a gay guy who was into the gym.

We used to get on at work and one time I went to his gym with him.

He did go on about the other guys in there and who he would like to 'pump' but it was all in jest.

Sexuality doest come up really on this forum or in the gym - i wouldnt know how many lads down the gym are gay , i seem to wear the tightest shorts !!!

S_T_E_F doesnt hide the fact that he plays for both teams , but apart from flirting with the dearly departed galloot , he is a regular meathead that strives for the perfect body.

I'm gay and i've used this forum for a while now, very useful.

I'm not obviously gay, or at least i dont realise i am, so i don't get much hassle in the gym. Some perceptive people can tell i suupose, but day to day i've not had any trouble. I'm quite wise to the reasons that hetero men get funny and insecure with gay guys, and can rise above any remarks ad look after myself if i have to.

I want to improve my body for health reasons aswell as my own confidence. Being 6'3 and 11st wasn't pretty, and now i'm almost 15 stone, much healthier, and fitter in both senses of the word.

Improve my body for the sole purpose of pulling blokes? No, i havent done it for that reason, and if i were to, is that any different from a straight guy doing it to pull girls? Hell no.

Why do you ask?

Greek love is not unnatural, it aint for me but I certainly don't frown upon it.

The question: People might not know you're gay, just don't put your mincing shows on for the gym. If you trained with me I'd treat you no differently.

How can it be un-natural if its the way you are born?? your a tool pal, im not gay but i think any gay person is just the same as us, just wired up differently, and you mate are obviously very unintelligent and a bit of a nob for having such a poor attitude towards homosexuality.

Oh god i really really sorry if i have offended anyone by posting this thread on here. It was meant to be debate on how gay men are pervieved in the gym. I know a few gay guys that are bodybuilders, some of which use it to improve their bodies and the others use it to pull.

I meant absolute no offence to anyone when i started this thread, please accept my apologies.

imo i wouldnt and wont treat a gay person different to anyone else i certainly dont feel threatened by them in any way and anyone who wants to go to the gym for fitness or just a good body has my praise because people who want to look after there body are unlike most people in this world
even if a gay guy hit on me i wouldnt do anything apart from tell them im straight
id be flattered though same as if a women hit on me id be flattered

im still shocked to read adults suggesting a gay man looks at every other man on the planet
a while back on another forum i heard people suggesting alternative changing rooms for the gay men. this argument was coming from seemingly logical adults. its laughable

most gents at your gym who are not hetrosexual will not be easy to pick out from the straight guys. the overt ones are generally seen as the life and soul of them gym and people respect them as people opposed to the old school notion of them being aliens of quote "unnatural" as we heard above.

i train a couple of gay guys and i do take the p1ss out of them (in a very friendly manner) when we are training as thats the relationship i have with them, and they love the little innuendos. i talk to them in the changing rooms and spot them when they need assiatnce, and yes this means touching them. not once does it cross my mind these kind hearted, everyday guys are looking at me as a piece of meat. they have desires but it would be so arrogant for someone to suggest they were so attractive that all gay men watched them train, arrive, leave the gym and get changed

get a grip guys

21st century time.....people are allowed to express themselves, allowed to have preferences and are allowed to be humans. the choice of whether to sleep with someone of the same or opposite sex should not a be a basis for the way you treat them. only when an attack takes place or threatening behaviour should any issue arise.

as a hetrosexual man i get on with my life, enjoy female company and allow my gay friends to do their thing. it doesnt hurt me, so its not my business to preach to them or make a fuss

Im hetrosexual and comfortable with my sexuality, so gay people dont scare me, offend me, or make me feel unconfortable.

If theyre using the same changing rooms so what ? Couldnt care less.

They go about their business and I go about mine.
