Getting Back Into Bodybuilding

Hi Guys. I have not picked up a weight for 10 years now. I used to weigh 200 lbs. It was all gained naturally over 4 years. Now I’m 160 lbs and ready to get back into shape. Can any one suggest any good work out routines? Also how long will it take to get back to where I was?

Thanks in advance

Danny

    Hi, welcome to MT

Couple of articles here that are worth reading:

    http://www.muscletalk.co.uk/article-beginners-first-stop.aspx

Make basic compound exercises the basis of your routine. Squats, bench, deadlifts, pull ups, etc

As for routines, there are many to choose from, have a look around at the sticky threads in the 'routines' sub-forum to see what takes your fancy. FWIW I think a three day pull/push/legs routine is a decent choice for mass

As for how long it will take you to get back to 200lbs - nobody can answer that. Depends on many different factors - diet, lifestyle, etc

Best of luck though. The forum's always here if you need any questions answered or help with anything
