Glutamine (worth it or not)?

I wanted to find out what some of you thought about glutamine. I was thinking of using it, but I've never been able to determine if it is really worth it... as I've heard conflicting reports about its effectiveness. Do those of you who use it notice any benefits from it? If so, how do you use it and what kind would you recommend?

I used to take it all the time but in all honesty did not really notice any major benefits etc so I would say it is not worth it. But from what I have been told it depends on the person.

I notice some benefit, i.e. a bit less DOMS when you spread the dosage out. But to be honest, money would be better spent on Whey, Oats or Creatine (supplement wise).

I've found glutamine to help when going into a heavy training programme, cutting or just feeling a little under the weather...But everyones different and its certainly not as good as have a whey shake or some protein..
Dorian Yates has been banging on alot recently though about how L-glutamine which is what most of us take isn't any good as not absorbed well or something like that - confusing really but might just be plugging his crazily expensive glutamine blend thing

Well, I guess I'll just stick to the basic protein & creatine. I don't want to start investing in other stuff that I may not see any results from.

I read this a long time ago that free form l-glutamine is poorly absorbed in the presence of other aminos and that your better off with peptide bonded glutamine, plenty of this in the protein shake I take so I don't supplement with it. I also didn't see any benefits when I did supplement with it.

That protein you take mate is it Pro-Peptide?

As thats where I get my glutamine fix from 5 grams in peptide form per serving.

I wouldn't bother with free form tbh.

Used to be Reflex Peptide Fusion and now Total Protein from MP. I have had ProPe and highly rate it but it costs too damned much!!

This one truely is a red herring

Some swear by it; others think its a waste of money.

One of the biggest concerns that appear to surface from this supplement is how much actually is aborbed and makes it to the muscle cells.
