Golfers/tennis elbow?

Anyone else suffer with this?

I've got golfers elbow and having rested for nearly 5 weeks now i still have the same level of pain, i'm pretty sure it's come about due to a weakness in my left arm from breaking my wrist years ago.

As i'm away all this week i cant get to see my physio. so has anyone got any tips, or has anyone been down the corticosteroid route?

worryingly i'm the same weight with a bigger waist and smaller arms and i'm missing training now, although just doing legs 3 times a week is going to get expensive having recently ruined a pair of suite trousers!

    I play quite a lot of badminton, so come across a few people who suffer from it. Most of them wear a support on there arm. But not the normal one you would expect, don't know the name of them but its just a strap you wrap round your arm just below your elbow, but nothing goes over the actual elbow, if that makes any sense. Seems to work for most people.

    General treatment, if it's true medial/lateral epicondylitis/epidonylalgia is generally treated with eccentric exercise;

    Tennis elbow - Wrist extensors
    Golfers elbow - Wrist flexors

    And stretching of the opposing muscle group may provide some relief too. If it's tennis elbow then an epiclasp is useful, but quite expensive, so may be able to get this via your GP.

    cheers for the replies, i've been doing wrist flexor work, 3 times a day with a slight progressive load over the day and it does seem to be making it easier, it just feels a long way off being strong enough to lift heavy again.
