Grand Prix EXPO??

So who went to the British Grand Prix EXPO and what was the turn out like in terms of the supplement companies, were they helpful?  Offering and good deals?

I was working over the weekend and was gutted that I couldn't go!!!!

There was a good turn out from the likes of Gaspari, Isopure, Extreme, Udos Choice, USN, inner armour, etc

Like all expo's the 1st year is always different to the following year where more supp companies will join in and put up stands.

The deals are similar to what you see online, cheaper than in the shops but not much of a bargain.

Free samples were on offer, love the Gaspari Myofusion samples....yum

I went there as a visitor and it was a pretty poor turnout - Not many exhibitors, and some pretty low rent looking stands on the whole.

Having been to Body Power both years this expo came far short.

Agreed.  For a first year expo I thought it was very good and you can see it growing year on year.  Good location too.

There was some utter bargains if you looked around but yes, mainly similar to online prices.  Udos Oil cheap and some other brands too!

Sorry you feel that way.  We pulled off a big expo in a short space of time (8 months).  Some companies chose to support us on our first year, others (like yourselves) didn't.  We can't make companies exhibit and we can't make them present good stands.  What we can do is put on fabulous events at our own expense and, let's face it, some were pretty spectacular.  Afterall we had IFBB Pro bodybuilding, Giants Live strongman, top fitness models and the first ever Amateur Olympia.  Other than the Vegas Olympia and the Arnolds, no where else in the world has anything like that.

All the companies who exhibited were really pleased and many more (who were not at this years) have already stated that they're going to be there in 2012.

This industry needs pushing forward.  I feel that companies need to look beyond their own little bubble and push the whole industry forward - that way they will benefit more.

Yes, this year's expo wasn't huge, but if anyone looks at the IFBB British Grand Prix Weekend as just an expo, then they're missing the whole point: it's so, so much more than an expo.

Best stall of the Expo - Bodybuilding.com without a doubt, they had a laugh, they keep grabbing people, handed out hats, t shirts, stickers etc, also signed pics with there athletes ( no price like most stalls ) and of course the Beautiful Jamie Eason :)

This event can only grow. Alot of people put a great deal of effort in to making it all possible, and they did a great job. Im sure next year and every following year it will get bigger and bigger.....

it wasnt an expo with some events attatched to it.  it was some massive events such as the BGP, the amature olympia, the giants strongman etc etc, with an expo running alongside.

if all you want is to gather samples form companies, and spend hours looking at promo girls on suppliment stands then it wasnt the biggest event (bearing in mind this was the first year)  but it wasnt about the expo, it was about the events.

companies need to get involved and support what is by FAR the biggest event on the bodybuilding AND strongman calendar.  it will be again next year, and the expo will grow alongside it as well.

It's worth adding (cos I asked) that the rates for stands were WAY better than the NEC. A LOT!!!

I'd book now because it'll be bigger next year and rates will go up.
