'Grazing' - cow style

Ok, just a random thought i had

Everyone follows the 'eat every 2-3 hours' rule of thumb to some extent.

Now if we take it further and for example split the amount of calories down even more. eg.

3000 calories / 6 = 500 each meal. what about twelve meals, ie. 250calories in each?

Hence the word 'grazing'. or does it not work like that? would 'grazing' be optimal if the average person had nothing to do (no life)?

disclaimer. i dont have a clue, this was a random thought

well grazing i think would be good for the binge prone and also overweight people as well. EVery time you eat you burn calories so the more times you eat good clean food in small quantities the thermic effect goes up and you lose weight. But eating 12 times a day could tend to get boring and i suspect food enjoyment would soon dissipate
