Guerilla Cardio . OMG

I just tried a session of GC...

ITS FKNG HARDCORE !!!

I couldnt sprint at full pace, the first sprint was about 70-80%, then its just got worse and worse, I swear by sprint 7-8 someone could have walked past me...is that normal ?

My normal version of HIIT is 15sec sprint with 1min break [walk back to start] and repeated 10x.
Think im going to do the GC on a bike because im just not built for sprinting like that, dunno I'll see how it goes for a couple of weeks.

Is there anything wrong with doing HIIT in the morning and then again in the evening ? [this is on days when I dont do weights].

Oh yes, it's just muscle fatigue. Doing 20 second sprint 10 second walk or jog cycles does not allow any real recovery. You are just going into a sustained anaerobic mode. After a certain time the intramuscular pH drops to such an extent that the enzyme PFK (controls the glycolytic flux) has a lower activity and things seriously slow down (toddlers sprint past you etc.). This is your muscles defense mechanism to stop the cells commiting suicide by exhausting there ATP supply

My normal version of HIIT is 15sec sprint with 1min break [walk back to start] and repeated 10x.
Here you should not be going to far into anaerobic condition. All sprints will be at almost maximal intensity. Here you are trying to maximise speed (by honing technique, reaction time etc. The Guerilla Cardio above, will help you maintain that sprint for longer periods

You are built for it, you just don't know it yet. Keep at it, sprinting is cool.

Probably not, but maybe do a normal sprint session morning then a guerilla evening to mix things up a bit. Taken individually the two forms of sprint training perform two, quite seperate, functions

    Nice one scooty !

I sort of forgot to mention that im doing it for pure fat loss, and to retain my strength\muscle gains [very little but dont want to loose it].

    I do weights - Mon\Wed\Fri\Sat
And I was going to do morning HIIT on my off days - Tue\Thur + perhaps GC session in the evening.
Sometimes I will do a form of HIIT after my weights to.

Obviously I've been reading through posts and articles here, im just trying to get a good balance for maximum fat loss and minimum muscle loss.

Could the above be improved or perhaps rearranged ?

Hello, i was just reading and i am not sure what Guerilla Cardio is exactly and was hoping someone could explain it for me. I lift consistently but need to lose some fat, so if this would help then i'de do it for sure. Is it just simply running in intervals like sprinting 15sec., then walk 1min, sprint 15sec, etc. and just repeat the process? and if so how long should it be done in total for, and how many days out of the week? Thanks for the help.

Use the search function, there should be a link somewhere on one of the pages.
