Lovely session there mate, squats looked good.

What's your reason behind the fatgripz rows?  Is the aim to build grip strength or back strength? I like thick bar training but it's important not to rob Peter to pay Paul.  This isn't meant to be a criticism, just trying to understand your goals.

Cheers nails.

I’m doing the rows for back strength, I just decided to put fatgripz on because I enjoy doing them and felt like it at the time lol. Won’t be doing them with the fatgripz for a while now though, I need to get the heavy reps in.

Yeh just a bit of extra grip training I decided to do last minute. Not going to be a regular thing tbh.

As you know my first blast felt a bit underwhelming, I’m only cruising now but this last 2 weeks is the first time I’ve actually felt stronger since going on the juice. I’ve just been able to push out more reps than before, usually on my 3+ week I've done well to get 1 extra rep, but to get a fairly comfortable 6 is unheard of lol. So it must be working.

Id even recommend using straps. Your grip is not an issue and with straps you can take all arms out of it and concentrate solely on them wings!

Grip work is always fun, I used to love doing back when my back was a mess and heavy back work was a no-no. Training sounding on point tho ATM

Yes I do enjoy adding in grip work occasionally, I need to order some thick rope soon to do some rope pull ups like Nails does in his log.
Thanks, training feeling pretty good at the moment.

Wednesday 06/02/19 - 3+ Week

Bench
bar x 20
50 x 8
77.5 x 3
90 x 3
100 x 4

Bench Pin Press
60 x 5
70 x 5
80 x 5
85 x 5

Standing Calf Raise
140 x 20, 16, 12, 8, 8

Dips
BW x 12, 10, 8, 6, 6

EZ Curl
37.5 x 12, 10, 8
...superset with...
Hammer Curls
10+fatgripz x 12, 10, 8

Ate like a pig yesterday. As well as my usual lunch and snacks I take to work, one of the team members in the office brought in some toblerone mini's from their latest travels, Amsterdam, and I swear they are 10x better than our UK made ones, prob had close to 20 of them. Got home and was still hungry so gave 4 mini choc chip brioche rolls a 10 second blast in the microwave. Then, as it was just me and the kids last night I decided to treat them to a KFC sharer (my sons idea), because I'm such a great dad of course. So I def needed to work it off in the gym last night, although I'll be honest it probably made my gym session less productive as I was pretty full by then.

Bench moved ok, would have liked a 5th rep but full of KFC I think it was safe to stick with the 4. Pin press moved well though, thought a 90 would be a bit too much so decided on 85 top set, but no probs in the end so will up to 90 next time.

Dips were done with only a short rest inbetween sets, and obviously no rest at all on the bi's superset.

I used to to do rope and towel chins. Plate pinch, thick bar DL, plate curls etc. Still have a CoC 1 and 2 that haven't rusted out yet too.

Solid pressing there tho, mate, good session

I've got a couple of CoC grippers as well sitting here on my desk, only the Training one and level 1, but they are great for getting the blood flowing, when I remember to use them. I go through phases of using them several times a day, to not touching them for months lol.

Yes a nice binge, although it often does me more harm than good in the end, I often feel a rubbish the day after, it has to be done though every so often.
Yes fairly pleased with my pressing atm, I seem to be maintaining a slight pause on the chest for each rep as well which is what I want.

Friday 08/02/19, 3+ week

Deadlifts
70 x 10
110 x 5
140 x 3
160 x 3
180 x 6

BB Shrugs
160 x 3x8

Front Squats
60 x 5
80 x 5
90 x 5

Bent Over Rows
60 x 16, 14, 12

Situps
BW+5 x 20, 16, 12
...superset with...
Dead Hangs
BW x 40s, 30s, 20s

Deadlifts moved nicely, had maybe one or 2 more in the tank but didn't want to sacrifice form. Feeling in a good place on these atm. If all seems to be moving well I may try for the 215/220 again this week, will decide on the day.
Shrugs and BOR I used my straps so could really go for it, so I got some good reps in there. Front squats felt good after a bit of a break from these, I can get a bit lower on them as well so helps to dial in squat depth.

Saturday 09/02/19

Military Press
bar x 20
40 x 5
60 x 4
70 x 4x4
40 x 12
bar x 12

Seated Calf Raise
150 x 12, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 6

DB Bench Press
20 x 16
30 x 12
35 x 6

Oooooosh, hit my planned 4x4 on the press! This was a close one, the 3rd set was a grind on the final rep, which pretty much put the doubts in my mind that I would struggle to do it again on the 4th set, but with a few mins rest I got it! 3rd rep was a grind already, so to grind out the 4th I was pretty damn pleased with myself. I'll be surprised if I manage to do it again next week with 72.5 but I won't mind dropping to 3x3 if I have to. Loving this plan, the heavier weights are building up nicely and I'm even having people comment at the gym at how strong my press is. My BW is only around 85kg as well at the moment, feeling fairly lean(ish) at the moment while strength remains good. I think the test is doing its job now - update on that next.

Calves feel like they are filling out slowly as well, going to increase the weight on these to 160 next time as my usual reps are feeling easier now.

Blood results update:

So I'm currently cruising on a SIS labs T400 test blend, 100mg a week. Took blood test last week and results came in today, levels are at 34.2nmol/L. Which is good news for 3 reasons:

1 - it means my current gear is not bunk
2 - it means I can lower my weekly dosage to 75mg, as 34.2nmol/L is above optimal TRT range of 20-30nmol/L, which therefore saves me money. And I like saving money.
3 - it confirms that my previous blast (SIS labs Test E) was infact underdosed, or possible that I just don't respond well to Enanthate (although not likely).

So big news here then. I'm pretty pleased with that! Like I've said before the last couple of weeks training I've felt stronger, and the blood results now confirm that the T400 has had something to do with that.

I will lower my cruise dose soon, but I'm half tempted to do another mini blast now, just for 8 weeks maybe, see how well I respond, and then drop back onto 75mg a week. My first blast doesn't really count anyway, as my T levels only came back at 21.6nmol/L then, so I was basically cruising from the start.

I'm still a bit annoyed that my first blast was duff. That's the risk you take with this game though I guess. I was getting worried that my body just wasn't reacting correctly, that I was converting it all to estrogen or something like that, which would have been even more difficult to manage. However, I'm pleased now that that my blood results have confirmed that it was just down to underdosed gear.

I'm so pleased that I've taken blood tests so far since starting this venture, it costs a bit of money but it is 100% worth it.

I was thinking of doing 1.5ml a week, which will be 600mg so plenty enough for me. And I'm loving being back on 531 atm, I've got my plan pretty much dialed in for the next few months with that, so I was going to just double it up and do squat/bench on tues/frid and deadlift/ohp on wed/sat.

If not which Russian based program would you recommend for only 8 weeks?

A doubled up 531 is good too.

For the Russian routines, I’d say Russian masters for squats., Surovetsky for Deadlift and smolov junior for bench. I once did all 3 at the same time! That was fun(!)

I'll stick with the 531 one then but doubled up then, as I have to admit I love 531. Also, I'm currently adding a bit of hypertrophy onto my workouts at the moment so the 531 approach makes this easier.

Russian Masters for squats is great, I've done that twice already on my 2 previous strength cycles but combined it with Ed Coans deadlift and bench plans.

Will have a look into Surovetsky for the deads as I've not heard of that one before. Smolov I have done before, but for squats, not the bench one. The bench one is saved in my spreadsheets though so it is ready and waiting for me already lol.

Next proper strength cycle is will try a mix of all 3 then.

Can't wait now, I'm gonna increase my dose starting next Monday to have a proper blast for 8 weeks, which ends just before I go out clubbing in London for the weekend so I can show off my gainz lol.

Cheers pal.
