HELP, need a good start up routine!!

Ever since I've been on this board I've realized that the old routines i was doing were pretty much useless. Although I did get some results they could of been maximized by the correct routine. Could someone suggest a good routine for someone getting back into the gym after a year off. Thanks in advance for the help.

    I'd more or less begin at the beginning again after that sort of lay off. A well thought out 4 day split to get you back into it then perhaps 3 months later moving to 5x5. For the 4 day split include the major compounds - Bench, Deadlifts, Squats, Dips, Etc. Draft something up and we'll be happy to look at it for you.
