HIIT 5x a week good/bad?

Hey fellas, ive pretty got my cutting diet down after plenty of help in the diet section, but im wondering if 15 minute HIIT sessions, 5 times a week is enough ?

Im not all that bothered about muscle loss, ive been doing AM HIIT along with ECA.

I read through an ebook that i think toxic may have posted and ive been doing that kind of routine.

Should i do more cardio or is this sufficient for my fat-loss goals?

I really do like HIIT, i love the challenge of it all

Not sure mate as im in a similar position...

I warm up, couple of mins, stretch...
Then I do a 14-16 second sprint, walk back [takes around 1min] then repeat it 10 times.
This takes me around 15ish mins + my cool down.

Im not sure if that is enough either.

I know that on the bike you can make your intense part much longer compaired to my running, so you could do 30 - 60 seconds rather than my 15 seconds.

Well i do 5 min warm up.

Then 20 seconds max effort, 10 seconds rest, 20 seconds again... for 5 mins (10 intervals), then a 5 min cool down.

ToxicToffee posted an ebook called Guerilla Cardio, so ive been following that, he knows what he's on about imo so i guess im on the right track

Blimey, 20 secs sprinting and 10 seconds rest? Are you sure you're going max effort on the sprints, thats hardly any rest at all?

I do 20 secs sprint, 1 min jog, 20 sec spring, 1 min jog etc.

It's all max effort, even if that last few intervals have me gritting my teeth, if you're gonna do it, at least do it right tbh, not called High intensity for nothing!

Like arnie said in pumping iron, if you cant train through the pain barrier, aches pains etc... you wont see results (or something like that)

I think that applies to pretty much anything in life, if you wont push yourself, you wont succeed above others.

add another level in there asian babe, one min hard, one min comfortable and one min easy.

HIIT 5x a week without worrying about muscle loss, seems fine to me. do some rowing after as well

Hazard a touch of narcissism without shame.

I'm guessing he means something like:

    30 secs low intensity
    30 secs moderate intensity
20 seconds balls to the wall as fast as you can

    Repeat

What i meant was how many times a week? Do i alternate with my 1 min high, 1 min low, one day and do 30secs low,30secs mod,30secs high the next day? Is doing HIIT 5 days a week too much??

knighty was right in what i was trying to tell you. add three type of intensity and alternate every minute, dont make it complicated just do as it cays on the tin! lol

asian babe, youll most probably get really bored with hiit 5 times a week.

i suggest doing 3 cardio sessions am (empty stomach or filled with the wonderful eph and caff and also a few bcaa) and 2-3 hiit sessions a week. you can even include a circuit style training where for example you do 20 mins total excercise but using different machines, 10 mins tread, 5 mins row, 5 mins cross trainer, also keeping it quite challenging at each machine.

Hazard a touch of narcissism without shame.

Asian babe, if rowing hurts your back it is most likly that you are using the incorrect technique, which can be easily fixed.

Which part of your back does it hurt Asian babe? lower or upper? Well, that doesn't really matter actually, because to cure both of them you just need sit up straight, and when I saw straight, I mean bolt upright, it will feel weird and uncomfortable at first, but once you're used to it, its much better.

lower back usually, but i get plenty of cv done, walking, cycling, running etc so if i give the rower a miss it won't matter too much
