HIIT ... but with a treadmill ?

Hi,

been reading a bit about HIIT where u go crazy for like 30 sec then slow for a bit.. and repeat 20 times or something...

only thing is .. i only have a treadmill at home and nothing else...

so is it possible to do it on a treadmill or am i just left with normal cardio ?

i heard that's not as good for fat loss ?

how about general fitness, is HIIT good for that?

The treadmill is fine mate..ROBERT states in one of his posts the benefits of HIIT compared to normal cv workout.
I use a treadmill at the gym and find it excellent for HIIT.
Normal cardio is no where near as good as HIIT. HIIT in my opinion is less boring and a hell of alot more challenging.and also the important bit-is more productive for fat burning and reducing muscle loss.

how would i do it on a treadmill for best effects ??

should i just run at 100% HR for 1 min...

then slow down at 60% hr for 3 mins ?

and repeat for 30 mins ?

    (1) what i do is 30secs on a 2% incline on the highest level...then reduce it to 8% for the 2 mins.

    (2) dont run at 100% MHR if your a beginner with HIIT.it will be too much too soon.

as a beginner to HIIT I do 30 secs MHR then 2 mins of 50 % mhr and i do this for about 15 mins at present but will build up to 20 mins before i increase the intensity and time

    Hi,

was wondering if, is this just for 'temperary weight lost' ?

Also does it make you fit ?

oh and is it just for bodybuilders.. as i just want to loose weight and be more toned...
