Honestly think it`s one of those fights which are just too close too call and worth betting on.

Will it come down to who can take the most punishment ? most probably but who knows.

To answer your question Integra a late stoppage for either or a Hatton points victory.

I agree that it is very close to call.

    My own views are:

    1. Hatton is the quicker out of the blocks, eager to set a fast and furious pace which 'should' earn him a comfortable lead on the cards. Castillo is a notoriously slow starter.

    2. Castillo is a formidable body-puncher, something which Hatton has recently shown that he absolutely hates. This could be a key gameplan for Castillo in an attempt to slow down and discourage Hatton.

    3. Hatton in recent fights has tired in later rounds. He was nearly stopped by Collazo (weight issue maybe?) and was also hanging on for life against Urango. Admittedly Urango was a beast, but Castillo is not exactly a little man and brings a much more educated technique.

    4. I really do not think Hatton will give us the war he is promising. He will approach this in the same way as he did against Ben Tackie. In and out, leading with his jab, his superior handspeed helping him build up a big lead.

For me it is a 50-50 fight, but I will plump for Castillo to win in a hard-fought contest as he is the more experienced boxer imo.

Castillo has only fought at light welter once, so I think Hatton is going to be far stronger than him.
Hatton had a virus when he fought Urango so that counted against him in the later rounds, plus he hadnt had a fight in ages,
He fought at the end of January so hasnt had time to get out of shape, so would have started his training camp in much better shape for this fight, and will be a lot sharper and fitter, and motivated.

While Castillo is a relative newcomer to the weight, his actual weight in the ring (while fighting at Lightweight) has been heavier or at least comparable to Hatton's.

Hatton has shown signs that what makes him such a great fighter (his workrate) has diminished - whether this is temporary or permanent we will have to wait and see.

His poor performances in his last few fights will have encouraged Castillo to prepare meticulously and give him a great deal of confidence that he can win the fight.

Secondly, since his great win against Tszyu he seems to have abandoned his 'educated pressure' style of fighting. He really needs to get this back for this fight, otherwise there is a big chance that he will lose.

I agree with your take on it mate, the above is something I`ve been thinking may be the game plan, especially listening to Billy Graham recently, trouble is , can Ricky resist the temptation to mix it ?

As you put it he needs to get back to asserting`educated pressure`, that for me is the key to this fight for him.

Hattons undefeated and personally that allways an hard thing to back against IMO.

Castillo has 7 defeats on his record I belive? OK some were against very top level guys but still hes a 'known quantity'

Hattons yet to reach that point where he can be measured against another fighter thru defeat.

I dont think Hattons going to take chances unless he sees hes hurt the guy and can finish the job.

Prediction. Hatton by KO, probably between rounds 6 - 9.

    Betting Tip

    Hatton to win outright 4/7
