Hello! Stuck in Mumbai monsoon floods (update: ok now)

Hi Folks,

Hope all is well on MT.

Have just started my few months of travelling/studying, not off to a good start. Im in Mumbai (Bombay) at the moment and its crazy. The worst monsoon floods have occurred in over 30 years and much of Mumbai is flooded. About 700 people have died. There has been no power or electricity much of the time. Typhoid and Leptospirosis are rife in the dirty water. Sheer madness. Hope things are much better back in the UK!

Cant believe i went from the London bombings to this, whatever next? lol.

Im already atrophying, i've lost tonnes of mass, but at least im alive. See you guys soon, hopefully!

Jimbo

PS- Mumbai girls are gorgeous!

    What are you studying lil-jimmy

Was a tornado (high winds, not a fighter plane!) in Birmingham yesterday with alot of roofs missing!

Dont quite think its as bad as the 700 people dying over there thou

Think safety at all times (even with the birds!!)

As amazing as Monsoon season is, it also has its downfalls and this is a prime example. Hope you and all the desi's out there are ok!

    Thanks to all who replied.

Have finally made it out of Mumbai, im in Colombo (Sri Lanka) at the moment, waiting to fly out to Bangkok, and then Sydney. Am so relieved to have left the place, but my heart goes out to those that lost their lives, their friends and family, and those still battling the floods.

Last death count was approaching 1000.

Aching to get into a gym, sounds very selfish at a time like this!

    See you guys soon.

Great to hear you're safe and heart goes out to the victims. Yet again, nature shows it's deadly side.

I had an ex boss from Bangladesh who used to say "don't go in the monsoon with your socks on"........never did know what it meant but always made me laugh
