Help: Normal wide grip pull ups or pyrometric ones?

OK i do mma competitively and want to increase my explosiveness in my punches. I have been doin Pyrometrics such as clap press-ups, also ones where i clap ointo a medicine ball.

But, I also want to increase the size of my lats and reduce my waist size, i have been doin plenty of sit-ups and twists for my waist and normal wide grip pull ups for my lats, but here is the question, should i be doin pyrometric pull ups (where hands leave the bar and back onto bar) or just normal pull ups where obviously i can do more? whats more benefical to increase my size but most importantly whants more beneifical for my punching and striking?

whats of the above pull ups should u be doin? and how many reps and sets?

please help thanks

You mean plyometric?..Pyro would be setting fire to things..Ha ha..

Plyometrics are used to develop explosive motion. With the example of clap press ups,you push up so explosively that your hands leave the floor.

I'm not sure if the same would work with chin ups.

You could do a pull up and let go of the bar,but i feel they would be two seperate motions as opposed to pulling so explosively that you "take off".

I know a lot of mma fighters who train with kettlebells.Movements like the overhea snatch, horizontal snatch, etc(which can also be done with a dumbell) is a pulling motion.
