also her training regime would help on this one, perhaps if she has been doing the same routine for a long time she is ready for a change in that, everything helps, nothing more than a routine change

theres no need to do abs everyday. They're just a muscle like any other.

just out of interest has the rest of her body been changing and is it just the belly thats staying? She's very light for 5'6 especially considering all that weight training.

gymbabe - she has toned up quite alot but not really gained much mass, but mass is not what she is after. she is very light for her height and i dont really like her dieting anymore to get rid of her stomach because of her weight. what would you recommend ?
thanks for your help

ok what i would try is stopping the five day split, stop doing abs every day,
id tell her to start doing all over body routine 2-3 times a week but do her ab days separate, say twice a week,
it could be that she is over training she deff is with her abs as gymbabe says, a change in routine never hurt anyone and it could be just what she needs,
but thats just my opinion........................

all opinions welcome bro
how many exercises would you advise for abs on the two days ? sets and reps
we also did a bit of research on the net last night as i have bought a load of creatine
it says that in women it can improve muscle tone and make you leaner would it be a good idea for her to take creatine too cause i have loads ?

We really need her diet.
She could be eating healthy as in 'I eat fruit and veg and eat low fat' which really means 'i'm not getting any nutrients and my metabolic rate is so low so i hold onto all my fat'
Or 'I eat healthy and have only have a mars bar after my gym session'

truth is bro we really need her diet but in general i would say drink plenty of water, keep her protein high, fat and carbs low, she should also check for the sugar content in food. her training regime jus seems a bit much for me, personally i would say she should do alternating weeks of weights and cardio each for max of 4 days (check the kellycel post for a regime she could use). so one week weights next intense cardio (HIIT)and so on. and btw chuck the ab roller its not very effective exercise do things like reverse crunches and try and make her not do more than 70 reps of ab exercises in a week.

could be down to a number of things, could just be water retention,
i wouldnt recommend a 5 day split to anyone, a 2 day or even a 3 day split would be more beneficial IMO perhaps something simply like Chest shoulders tris, legs back and bi's

I've always had a problem with having a bit of a belly. I find if I stick to high protein, small amount of carb then it stays alot flatter and as soon as I have more carbs my belly just bloats.
Oh yeah any fizzy drinks as well! now try to drink about a 1.5 litres at work during the day.
