try that routine Selecta. mb showed me that routine a week or so ago, and I used to do a similar routine as your original one (i tried to do every machine in the gym, thinking that I would get much stronger due to the higher work load). But after a week or so with the 5x5 (I do 4x6 atm) routine, i feel stronger, and by the end of the sets, KNOW I have had a good workout.
Just be careful of the squats and deadlifts, as if you do them wrong, you can seriously hurt your back. Start off slow, to get your back muscles used to the exercise, and make sure your form is perfect before going heavy.
