i asked the same question and am nine weeks into the program. if i can do 5x5 i up the weight. only by max of 2.5kgs per week. if i can do 5x5 il up the weight. if i can only do 3 on last set, il keep the weiht the same. If i cant make atleast 4 on the fourth set and 3 on the last, il go down a weight.
Remembering technique is paramount!
I only ever up the weight when i fully complete my set/rep range. if im going for 5x5, make 4 good sets of 5 and then a 4.. tough luck and il keep the weight next time. copping out and increasing the weight doesnt show that you have achieved something. I like to know i have done exactly what i have set out to do before going heavier.
fraknie also advised me that not completeing all sets and reps will make it more likely to plateau later on
