High blood preasure

Right before i start i'm not a transvestite its for my girlf :D

She has just been to the doctors and has got very high blood preasure, the docs put her on diuretics to help flush out her system i presume. Is there anything else she can do to drop the preasure, she eats fairly good tends to stay close to whole foods and goes drinking once a week and to the gym three times.

There are many things that can affected the blood pressure. I think the doc has been a little hasty in giving her diuretics so quick, these can deplete the body of many vital minerals. One of the most commen causes of HBp is stress.....then there is also a genetic tendency, nutritional influence, exercise etc etc etc...check on the net there's loads of info

Cut out salt. There is a lot hidden in convenience foods.

Cut out salt, caffiene and alcahol, increase execise and keep weight sensible, some say 75mg of asprin a day helps, i would check with gp or get a second opinion. And yes stress does play a major part. When you say very high, what are the readings?

Seems strange that diuretics were the first option. Is it Bendrofluazide? Frusemide? Does she hold water? Are her ankles swollen? As said, there are a range of factors that can influence BP, some can be influenced by the individual, others aren't.

we should not be one's to question her doctors judgement as we are not privvy to an examination and medical history are we!!!

She should take some gentle exercise, de stress (if poss), reduce salt
