Hitting a woman who has hit you?

Just chanced upon this article today. Apparently, for reasons that are not yet clear, she pushed him to the ground, so he got up and punched her in the face.

Fair few variables to weigh up when considering if it is EVER right, as no doubt there are situations where someone would have to.

Drunken night out, which seems to be the case above, then it's reasonably fair to assume that if you push someone over they may just get up and smack you.... I'm sure if sober the lad wouldn't see red so quickly and would maybe have just shoved her back, if not laughed at her and left it. I'm not sure if a woman pushed me over I'd need to smack her in the face but TBH, but if a guy did it I would consider it an afront so can understand the outcome if a girl does it too

My ex wife was a wild woman - when she would 'lose an argument' her response would always be to last out, scratch my face, whack a pan around my head.

One day she was screaming the place down being the usual physically abusive when the neighbours decided to call the cops....when they came in, pushed me to another room, checked to see if she was fine and started asking her questions. I kept my mouth shut as I knew I hadn't done anything wrong.

Anyway when the officer asked why the heavy griddle pan was in the middle of the room i just shrugged and said 'that's her weapon of choice'....again the female officer said to the ex he hasn't hurt you has he 'nope' was her answer - 'Ok honey I've just got to fill these forms out to make sure you are safe' while I'm stood there, hair pulled, scratch marks across the face and a bruised arm.

I got warned to behave and be reasonable while nothing happened to her....

Month later same sh1t but this time I lost the plot and grabbed her tightly by the arm and face....obviously cops came over and I find myself in Tottenham police station for the night.

Good thing the police officer I was in the car with was a dude and knocked some sense into me 'leave her before she ruins your life mate' - best advise ever.

Long bloody story short - not sure of the girl deserved a bloody punch across the face and a split nose but if she pushed him over on purpose - push the bird back or stand up to her. Seen too many times in pubs gobby cows bottling a guy or throwing a drink at a bloke - if you don't like what he said. Tell him to F off - unless he touches you then too right to 'smash him in'

I'd like to say absolutely never but drunken impulse is a bugger. I was once slapped by a woman for no reason whatsoever. I had no idea who she was but she came up to me and slapped me really hard round my face and then she started laughing. I wanted to do the same to her so bad but I didn't. However, whilst I'm not at all proud of it, I did spit right in her eye. Disgusting I know and even though it was years ago I still feel ashamed of it, but heat of the moment decisions are rarely good ones.

I'd never hit a woman unless absolutely necessary, but when woman hit men because they know they won't get the same reaction they would get if they were a man, im quite glad to see them get a smack. Even if you're in the right its a very risky business hitting a woman back though, I've seen plenty of guys get their heads kicked in on nights out by random guys after seeing it happen

Without a seconds hesitation, yes.  I would smash her mouth in one shot.

You'll find that all this crap women (and a few pathetic menfolk) spout about 'equality' of the genders suddenly goes off-line when a man is hit by a woman, and has the legal right to retaliate.  Suddenly, oh no, you can't even speak harshly to a woman who is doing something wrong.

Really, JUST to make my point, I'd probably grab her throat, so as to line up the shot perfectly, and deliver a shot that'd make Mike Tyson proud.  She'll think again about EVER messing with another man.

I'd get away scot-free as I'm technically defending myself and luckily have no recorded history of violence against women.

I've learnt my lesson not to laugh at a women after she punches you in the face, I nearly lost an eye the last time.

But seriously if it's a normal woman that doesn't pack much of a punch I would shrug it off, it's likely I'd deserve it

Well they wanted equality, that's it right there.

Of course what feminists meant by equality as really having the same rights as men but without the duties and keeping the perks exclusive to women, but they threw that word around so much that now it's backfiring and they really are being treated equally.

As far as whether I'd hit her, well it depends. If she came at me trying to gouge my eyes out or something hell yeah I'd put her down. But normally fighting a woman means fighting someone much weaker than you, more so for guys with above average strength such as weightlifters. If a woman tries to swing at me a shove is probably enough to stop her.

I would respond appropriately to the level of danger I was in. At least I would try! :)

This is pretty sinilar to if it was a bloke, but tbf I would be less aggressive with a woman given the specific situation.

i've had a similar experience to susp above - was hit by a woman outside a club when i was about 19 (Jilly's RockWorld - RIP) for no reason (other than maybe looking like a 'dirty mosher' which i got aaaaaall the way through school until emo came in and then everyone started dressing like a dirty mother because it was cool) and i was going to give her a slap back but my mate did instead.

she hit me, started laughing, her mates laughed, my mate waded in with a slap. her mates pile over saying how bang out of order it is that he hit her. no mention of it being out of order that she belted me one first, completely unprovoked.

Kick the hole would be sufficient if it was a big 30 stone mama that was about to sit on me and do God only knows what to me

now i think of it, my sister's ex boyfriend was attacked by some fat skank who mistook him for someone else - dived out of a taxi as he was outside mcdonalds, started pulling his hair and trying to scratch his eyes as they fell to the floor.

she was arrested the next day and he got a warning for hitting her as hard as he did (completely justified as she was going for his eyes) and breaking her nose. she admitted everything, acknowledged it was mistaken identity but refused to apologise because he hit her back (they did a police mediation thing instead of pressing charges)

I was arrested once after three neds started on me and I got the better of them, the police didn't care they said we can only go by what they say.

But yeah if it's a larger lady then some violence maybe needed, you could end up in hospital otherwise

Never done it. Would I? yep without hesitation.

You hit me all bets are off being a woman wouldnt matter to me at all. Obviously I dont wanna go beating her up but if she hit me id hit her back. I dont know why the person would expect anything else.

Im not talking about the case in question I cant tell what happened from the pics I just mean in general

Women get hysterical though, hit them once and you won't want to stop till they shut up.

I had a friend that goaded me into it once, he said go on Fkn hit me then so I hit him and he started howling I ended up hitting him a few more times till he shut up.

Can't go pointing ur finger into someone for head saying go on hit me and not expect them to do it

I'm pleased - and lucky to say - that I've never been in this situation. Obviously there have been some right good arguments but I would never hit a woman ever. It's cowardice. Restraint is the best option, even though it's nearly always impossible to reason with a woman.
